A fun and instructive discovery trail around chocolate, from harvesting cocoa to producing chocolate and its transformation by the artisans of taste. It’s aimed at all audiences: everyday fans or utter devotees, kids or grown-ups - as long as they love chocolate!
A uniquely mouth-watering expe-rience that moves all five senses: the opportunity to taste and appre-ciate the flavours, shapes, colours and textures of 15 to 20 chocolates; to uncover the secrets of their ingre-dients; and to identify Valrhona’s Grand Crus.
A children’s recreation area to com-plement the discovery-trail expe-rience provided specially for them.
Workshops and tutorials/shows along the trail, several times a day. Hosted by a team of professionals, they provide deeper insight into a chocolate-related topic or tech-nique.
An all-chocolate café with self-service, where you can relish an original culinary experience - in a sweet or savoury version.

Crunchy Milk Choc Rocks Make some delectable almond and hazelnut rochers coated in Jivara Lacté chocolate. Each participant takes away their creations. A “chocolatier” work-shop with: caramelising the nuts, tempering the chocolate, and coating.

Pastry & Chocolate After making Crunchy Milk Choc Rocks (see workshop no.3), turn your attention to a delicious chocolate moelleux - preparing the batter and using a piping bag. A unique private eventWhen the Cité du Chocolat is closed to the public, you can invite your guests to an immersive experience in the fascinating world of chocolate, for an evening of sharing and conversation.
We place our discovery trail at your full disposal, together with two hosts to entertain you. You will be greeted with a coupe of “Cuvée Icône” Clairette de Die.
To ensure a highly convivial atmosphere, our tutors host entertaining activities lasting 10-15 minutes around a product, a tasting or a chocolate-themed quiz.
To round off the event, each of your guests will depart with a chocolate souvenir: a tasting case of six Grand Cru dark chocolate squares.

Centrally located in the Cité du Chocolat, just as it was in the chocolate factory back in the 1950s, the shop is stocked with all of Valrhona’s ranges.Enjoy a sneak-preview tasting of the brand’s latest creations and, of course, find the perfect souvenir, as well as marshmallow and biscuits made with Valrhona chocolate.
If you wish, the Groups Department can put you in touch with the Shop to order gifts - which will then be presented to each guest at your event.
