then you can make your own bymixing equal parts of water andwhite glue.

    Be creative this Christmas!

Follow these steps and you willdefnitely enjoy decorating withyour photos on wood! Besides, you can always make morethan one.

Placing photos in nice pic-ture frames of important mem-ories or people in your life arealways a good idea to put ondisplay. But what if there is amore creative way of doing it?Canon PIXMA Arts & Crafts

Ambassador Alessa Lanotof www.lifeafterbreakfast.phshares a fun crafts using pho-

tos and the canon PIXMA InkEffcient E400.

Transferring photos towood has become a trendnowadays, and its interest-ing th ing to do especially nowthat holidays are coming. Ifyou want to give a unique giftor you want a homier feel toyour Christmas decorations, then this do-it-yourself projectis the best idea to work with!

All you need is a peeled off part

from a sticker paper, some ModPodge, and the Canon PIXMAInk Effcient E400 to make thisunique gift or cozy decorationfor all your guests to see thisholiday.

Start off by choosing thephoto you want to transferon wood. Be it an adorablebaby picture, your memora-ble group shot with family orfriends, or even just a cute pho-to of your pet wearing a SantaClause costumethe choice is

    all yours.

As for the wood, you canalways opt to make use ofones that are recycled, likethe back portions of woodenpicture frames. Any at wood

would do, just as long as it isnot coated, since that wouldmake absorbing the imagesink really hard. If the onlywood you have is coated, you can simply make useof sandpaper to make thewoods texture matte.

Af te r pic king the phot oand wood of your prefer-ence, take the woodssize and make sure thatyour printout has the

    same size as the wood.

Als o befo re pr in ting , makeyour photo a little over-saturated since the woodstexture can have a tenden-cy of desaturating the photoonce transferred. And, forthe photos printing pro-cess, take the peeled offpart of the sticker paperand use its glossy side forthe photo to print on. Usinga Canon PIXMA E400, printthe photo of your choice.Place the settings for the pa-per at plain. This printer isa good partner for all yourcreative antics since it is af-fordable (only Php3695 SRPwith a built-in scanner), and

    it provides amazing quality

    printouts.

After printing the photo, care-fully mount the paper on woodand make sure the ink is still wet.

Place a piece of tape on top of theprinted photo just so it wont movewhile you are doing the trans-fer. Then using the back part ofyour pair of scissors, press thepaper onto the wood so it canabsorb the ink better.

You are almost close tofinish, but before hangingit on the wall for everyoneto see, secure the imageon wood by coating it withone layer of Mod Podge. If

    you dont have Mod Podge,

THOUGH feeling a little under the weather, writ-er and film critic Dodo Dayao remained in acelebratory mood after his Violatorwas de-

clared best picture at the 2014 Cinema One Originalsawards Sunday night at the Dolphy Theater in theABS-CBN compound.

Maybe Ill buy new shoes, the director told the INQUIRER.

    Violator, a psychological dra-

ma-horror flick about fivemenand a prisoner thought tobe the deviltrapped in a po-lice station at the height of araging storm, is Dayaos firstfeature film. Thus, his victory

was unexpected and, he said, perhaps came too soon.

Im thrilled, but nervousifI had my way, my first win

would come with my second orthird movie, he said.

Dayao said his team ran into

the usual spate of schedulingand technical snags, which theytook on with a gung-ho atti-tude. We just enjoyed theride, he said.

I hope this sense of freedomand lack of pressure will carryover to our next movie, Dayaoadded. Im thankful to my

whole team, from the assistantdirector and actors to the cine-matographers and colorists.

Dayao admitted that hewasnt impressed with his work.Napapangitan ako sa gawa ko!Dayao quipped, laughing. I setbars for myself that I feel I

didnt quite meet. Ill still be thisway even after 10 films. Itshealthy for the creative process.

    Technically solidThat said, Dayao conceded

thatViolatoris a technically sol-id movie that features intelli-gent, mature cinematographyand sound and production de-signs, and restrained acting.

His team received P250,000in cash for winning best picture, plus an additional P50,000 fromone of the festival sponsors. Themovie also won best sound (forCorinne de San Jose), best edit-

ing (Lawrence S. Ang) and bestsupporting actor (Andy Bais). It stars Joel Lamangan, Vic-

tor Neri, RK Bagatsing, TimothyMabalot and Anthony Falcon.
