Welcome to the 20th Annual Tim Hortons Ottawa Dragon Boat Festival.

Our 2013 celebration features many new and exciting components including our first Tiki Beach Gala in support of the Ottawa Dragon Boat Foundation. We have an incredible free concert line-up including the Sam Roberts Band, Born Ruffians, Great Lake Swimmers, Raine Maida, Sloan and many more who will be playing from the CTV stage located in the Royal Oak Beer Garden and Hillside Amphi-theater. Also be sure not to miss the Friday night Parade of Champions and Opening Ceremony, the 1920’s Ferris wheel and carou-sel, the many family performers, and multiple bicycle stunt shows.

Our Paddling for People campaign operated by the Ottawa Dragon Boat Foundation has raised over $ 3 million and we look forward to reaching our 2013 goal of $ 450,000 with your generous support. We would like to thank title sponsor Tim Hortons, presenting sponsor Scotiabank and each of our 60 sponsors and suppliers. In ad-dition we would like to recognize the Federal, Provincial and Municipal governments for their support. We also wish to thank over 500 volunteers, board and staff, and the countless people who help make all of this happen.

John Brooman – CEO/President,Tim Hortons Ottawa Dragon Boat FestivalOttawa Dragon Boat Foundation

As a Founding Director of the Tim Hortons Ottawa Dragon Boat Festival, it is my great honour to welcome all of you to our 20th an-nual festival. It has been a fabulous 2 decades. We had no idea 20 years ago that we would still be at this today, forget being the biggest in North America raising $450,000 per year for local charities. We have record team reg-istration and sponsor support. I would like to especially acknowledge the support of our Title Sponsor Tim Hortons, our Presenting Sponsor Scotiabank and our Diamond Spon-sor Minto, as well as the City of Ottawa and Parks Canada which provide us with a first

class racing venue. The Festival would not be possible without the continued support of our numerous other sponsors and suppliers, many of who have been with us from the very beginning.

For the hundreds of people that make the Festival happen each year, it has truly be-come a labour of love for all of us. This is especially true of our staff, board of direc-tors, volunteers and paddlers who all help to make the Tim Hortons Ottawa Dragon Boat Festival the biggest and best festival of its kind in North America.

On behalf of everyone who makes the Festi-val happen, paddles up and have a great race weekend! Warren CreatesFounding Director

The Tim Hortons Ottawa Dragon Boat Festival is celebrating its 20th anniversary this year and to mark this exciting event we are on course to reach over $3m raised that has supported 29 local charities, and the boards of the Ottawa Dragon Boat Foundation and Festival would like to thank all of the individ-uals and teams who have made these signifi-cant contributions to the Pledge Challenge. We believe we can do more in 2013. This year we have launched an ambitious goal to raise $450,000 for the seven charities our paddlers are supporting. Through our first ever Tiki Gala on the beach of Mooney’s to our “This is Why I Paddle” campaign we are connecting our charities and our paddlers with the great community we live in. Whether you are pledging a paddler in their efforts, putting a tooney in a bucket or wearing a “Paddling for People” bracelet, you are doing your part. Together your donations make a huge difference to our recipient charities and the people they serve.

Thank you teams! Thank you paddlers! Thank you our supporters!
