LOGISTICS

As dedicated service is essential to our success and maintaining strong customer relationships, Short Mountain owns and operates its own fleet of trucks. For more than 30 years, we have provided superior service to our customers by handling the product from the mine straight to the customer’s hands. With onsite maintenance and wash facilities to ensure purity of sands, our truck fleet is always ready for action to ensure our products are only a phone call away, always arrive on time, and are free of contaminants. Our fleet features flat bed, pneumatic tank, van, bottom drop, rear dump, and straight trucks.

SILICA SOLUTIONS PRODUCTS

Short Mountain Silica offers a wide variety of products serving various industries. We offer silica for glass and glazing, traction sand with dust suppressant, filter sand for municipalities, and a bright white sand for golf courses, lawn, landscape, and recreation needs. In fact, from the light you turned on this morning and the window you looked through at work, to the toothpaste you used before bed, chances are our products are already part of your daily life. Most products are available in 50 pound bags, bulk, and 2000 or 3000 pound supersacks.

GLASS SAND

Our glass sand is a high purity white processed silica (99.8% SiO2). Washed, dried, and screened to maintain consistent particle size, this sand is great for the production of flat glass, fiberglass, and light bulbs.

GOLF COURSE AND BUNKER SAND

Our bright white golf course and bunker sand meets USGA specifications and is excellent for topdressing as well as building tees and greens. Different bunker sand blends are available.

GREEN DIVOT FIX

Green Divot Fix is a green-colored sand that meets USGA specifications for topdressing and repairing divots. Designed to blend with the natural turf color, this product can also be blended with seed, soil, or fertilizer for tee-box or turf repairs. This product is also available with peat moss.

GROUND SILICA FLOUR

Our ground silica flour is a milled, high quality silica available in 200 Mesh and 325 Mesh. These products are great for producing ceramics, coatings, tile, fiberglass, pottery, paints, rubbers, and toothpaste.

TRACTION SAND WITH DUST TREATMENT

Washed, dried, and screened for consistency, our traction sand is treated with a dust suppressant. This sand is great for traction on rail roads.

30/70 FILTER SAND

This sand is washed, dried, and screened to ensure filtering success for any municipality.

PLAY SAND

Available in 50lb bags, this white sand is perfect for use in a sandbox or around the house.

WHITE LANDSCAPING STONE

Available from 3/4 to 1.5 inches in size, these white stones are the perfect finish to any landscaping project.
