Our team has created a unique photo competition series powered by the global Instagram community and social media voting. We aim to bring together the best of local amateur photographers and connect them with the top global Instagrammers and brands. We will mash up the perfect mix of creative talent, interactive technology and good old offline parties!

The Snapys awards and competitions will reward the best snaps from across 25 different categories such as Food, Travel, Fashion, People, Pets and some creative wildcard categories too!

Winners will be selected by a panel of leading 75 Instagram influencers. These prestigious judges who will also be supported by online votes from members of the public. Launching in Dublin, The Snapys are already planning photo competitions in London, Berlin, Sydney, San Francisco, Sao Paulo in 2015.

The Snapys Photo Competitions

The #snapyschallenges are photography challenges that uses Instagram to create thematic narratives between your brand, influencers and the Instagram community.

The Snapys warm up competitions will happen when we will post a thematic competition with a special hashtag with the name of your brand. To participate, anyone can submit photos inspired by this theme and they all go for voting public in a customised exclusive branded landing page.

When voting, users have to follow your brand on Instagram and have the option of sharing their votes on social networks thereby generating even more word of mouth and engagement. In the end, our judges will pick a winner for the best photos and we will put the best pictures into a branded video montage for further great content.

We pick a brand ambassador such as a celebrity, a photographer or a top travel blogger who will help share the competition to their fan base on social

networks as Facebook, Instagram, Twitter & blogs etc.

Users vote online for their favourite photo related to the travel category. The sponsor's fan base and social media engagement will grow during the competition

process.

People post pictures on Instagram identifying the categories with the respective hashtag (#snapysfood,

#snapyspeople, #snapystravel, #snapysmusic)

The pictures are crawled and published on TheSnapys.com or

on the partner’s website.

Users access the photo gallery, log in to vote using their favorite Social

Network account…

The website shows the amount of votes per picture and per category.

The first phase shortlists the 10 most voted pictures per category, and the second phase, open for new votes, selects the top 5. A

judge decides the winner of each category.

…and submit only one vote per category per phase.

Powerscourt Centre, located just off Grafton Street at 59 South William Street is a historic Georgian building that was the home of Richard Wingfield 3rd Viscount Powerscourt in the eighteenth century. Since 2008, Connector has organised 25 events for the digital community with industry leading guest speakers from organisations including UPC, Facebook, Today FM, Daft, Microsoft, Boards.ie, Electric Picnic, Muzu.tv, Bebo & many more.

We worked with sponsors such as Canon, Heineken, Bulmers, Peroni and Corona. We have strong experience in event organisation and created the Connector Digital Video Awards for Canon in 2010 with 250 guests and TV, radio, press and online PR coverage.

Connector and sister brand SocialMedia.ie have over 15,000 social media connections in the Irish market. We will invite our network to come along and meet other passionate people from across the digital world and connect with them both online & offline.

In September 2013, Ireland’s first Instagallery was organised to celebrate the launch of connector360.

Uniting art, technology & entertainment, we had a live interactive wall that was updated in real time with photos from the event.

The Instagram photo gallery featured 10 influential photographers whose work was showcased on the walls. We had a DJ who captivated everyone and made this gallery experience unique.

With almost no budget and a short lead time, we had over 200 attendees and media coverage in the Irish Times. We had over 150,000 impressions across different social networks. This was one of the best events organised by Connector with the energy in the room quite electrifying!
