REMINDER: There will be a full moonlight labyrinth walk

this Sunday evening December 11th at 6 pm. We will meet in the chapel for a brief history and use of the labyrinth and then we will walk the labyrinth together, by only the light of the full moon, stars and candles. Think of Mary and Joseph all those years ago and how that was the only light they had. Where did faith come into that image? What else did they take with them? Were they afraid? Were they tired? What gave them the strength to go on? We hope to see you there. Stop outside Mass today for more information on the labyrinth and the scheduled moonlit walk. The team is looking forward to sharing this ancient prayer path with you.

From the parish survey, the Parish Pastoral Council evaluated the demographics of our active parishioners and the needs ex-pressed by each category of those groups. As a result, we have set priorities for action which you will be hearing about over the next several months. One demographic that became obvious is that a large number of parishioners are at retirement, dealing with issues of aging, or are families who are in caregiver positions for older family members. Wellness, estate planning, resources, recreation, housing, nutrition, exercise, change of day-to-day routines, adapting homes for safety, use of computers and other current technology, and varying other topics are of interest to many in our community. Everyone is busy now thinking of the holidays, so watch the bul-letin in early January for more information on a new ministry to ad-dress this need. We will need YOU - interested, creative parishion-ers with ideas to develop a valuable treasure trove of information, speakers, and support!

CORPUS CHRISTI WELCOMES?

Newly Registered Parishioners:

Mark & Kathy Mistler Ronald & Deborah Perkins George Reel & Therese May Welcome to Our Faith Community!

The Shawl Ministry was able to donate 33 homemade sweaters to school children, 38 knitted or crocheted lap robes to Vision Quest, Poverello House, and Sister José Women’s Center, along with over 80 pair of slippers, 18 scarves, about 60 hats, and a dozen mittens to all of these organizations and Kids on the Street. Our ministry has never had to buy yarn thanks to your generosity so, in a round about way, you are very much involved in our community in giving to those less fortunate. Thank you all and thank you to the Shawl ladies for a terrific job! Anyone wishing to be a part of this giving group, please contact Carol Poirier at 520-576-2756

Last Sunday to Choose an Angel Stop by the Angel tree, select an Angel and remember someone who is in need. “One in three children in Tucson live in poverty.” It’s hard to understand, but there are many who

never receive any gift during the holidays. Reach out to one of them and share your good fortune. Thank you...The Outreach Committee

Last week I was rather upset with the Baptist for put-ting yet something else on my plate this season, giving me one more thing to do – repent, reconsider, refocus. This week I feel for John. He’s facing the end and start-ing to second guess himself. He’s starting to wonder if he backed the wrong horse. He’s come face to face with disappointment. This Jesus is the not Messiah he expected or preached. He expected to see the vindica-tion of God. He expected the Messiah to take the world by storm. “Are you the One who is to come, or should we look for another?” The big question John is really asking is “Can I trust God?” When life is full of confu-sion and disappointment, Can I trust God?

John came to his own answer. We can guess at it, since Jesus says of him: "Among those born of women there has been none greater than John the Baptist..." And in anticipation of your answer and mine, Jesus adds: "... yet the least in the kingdom of heaven is greater than he."

Fr. Chris

Father Richard’s gospel of John Class. Please read and meditate on the.6th Chapter. Also, answer two questions: Why Jesus is unwilling to be acclaimed "king." Why did the rulers oppose him? All are wel-comed as we meet on the 7th of January at 9am in the chapel.
