Invitation to the CONCERT on Franco-American Day

with Marie-Line Morin, soprano Paul Bordeleau, piano

When: June 23rd at 2pm Where: Corpus Christi Parish, Lawrence, MA Why: Celebrate Franco-American Heritage & patron saint, St. John-the-Baptist, Support a Listening Ministry project in the Church. All are invited to BE French-Canadians on June 23rd (as all become Irish on March 17th). Throughout songs of love such as I Dreamed a Dream; Quizas, Quizas, Quizas; Jesu, Joy of Man’s desiring, Amazing Grace, Ave Maria and more, Marie-Line gives testimony to her faith journey as a French-Canadian immigrant. While celebrating our Franco-American heritage, she reminds us about the importance of a Listening Ministry in the Church for us to become the BODY-of-CHRIST while connecting with immigrants of varied ethnic background and with the growing Hispanic population. Free admission; donations will be welcomed. Benefits will go toward a Listening Ministry project to be implemented in the Church.

On Sunday, June 23rd the 10:30am and 12:00pm Masses will be combined into one Mass at 11:00am. We will celebrate our Parish Feast Corpus Christi Sunday. The Mass will be bilingual Mass English and Spanish. Followed by a Potluck Lunch in the Parish Center.

SOLEMNITY OF CORPUS CHRISTI/THE BODY AND BLOOD OF CHRIST

The celebration of our parish feast will next Sunday, June 23rd, the 10:30am and 12:00pm Masses will be combined into one Mass at 11:00am. We will celebrate our Parish Feast Corpus Christi Sunday. The Mass will be bilingual Mass English and Spanish. Mass will conclude with Benediction. This will be followed by a social in the parish center. FINANCES Just a reminder that.......... 1) The 2019 Catholic Appeal continues through December 31st. We have yet to meet our parish goal of $26,000! As a June 10th, we have pledged $12,895 or 48% of our goal. There are orange Catholic Appeal pledge envelopes at the exits to the church. You will find a tear out pledge form in the center of the envelope. Completed envelopes should be put in any of our collections or brought to the office. We will get them to the Archdiocese of Boston. Thanks. 2) The Archdiocese reduced our indebtedness for the 2018 Catholic Appeal from $6,000 to $3,000 which we've paid. 3) The Spring Collection is on-going. As of June 11th $6,158 has been contributed to our “semi-grand- annual” [Spring] collection. There are envelopes at the exits. Our immediate concern is the $34,000 loan we took out with the Archdiocese to pay for the new rectory furnace and asbestos removal. Obviously we appreciate your generosity.
