How do you view Martha and Mary? Do you see Martha as whiner? Do you see Mary as a slacker? It probably depends on what moment of the day the question is asked of us. They are two sides of the same coin – the doing and the being. Both are needed. St. Teresa said: “If Martha had imitated Mary, Christ would have gone without his dinner.” They are two aspects of ministering to another – ministering in the broadest sense of the word. In every interaction we minister to one another. Sometimes we do it well. Sometimes, not so well. The key is paying attention to the other person, to recognize the individual person – and that does take effort (no one said this discipleship thing would be easy). The form of our ministry all depends on what a person needs at the time. Sometimes they need us to do for them. Sometimes what a person really needs if for us just to be with them.

Homebound Eucharist If you have a family member or know of a parishioner on the eastside of Tucson in need of having Eucharist brought to them regularly, please contact the Parish Office at 751-4235.
Prayer Chain If you would like to be a part of the Prayer Chain, or have a pray-er request, all that’s required is to have a computer with internet access, an email address, a compassionate heart, and willingness to pray for others (no phone trees). For more information contact Lyn Diehl at 751-4235 or [email protected]
BREAKING OPEN THE SCRIPTURE WITH FR. CHRIS is on summer break. We will resume in September.
This weekend is the collection for the Archdiocese for the Military Services, USA (AMS). This collection is taken every three years to fund their annual operating budget. The AMS provides a full range of pastoral services to all serving in the US Armed Services; enrolled in US Military Academies; undergoing treatment at any of the 153 VA Medical Centers; working in civilian jobs for the federal government beyond US borders and for the families of these populations. Enve-lopes are available in the pews for your convenience.
We Need Your Help! Corpus Christi will hold a Bean Bag Toss Tournament on Saturday, August 3, after 4:30pm Mass. We are in need of game boards and bean bags for the tournament. If you have a board and bags that we can borrow, please email John at [email protected] or call the Parish Office 751-4235 as soon as possible so that we can be sure we have enough for the tournament. Thank you!
Native Peoples Missions Ministry Due to Monsoon Season, all donation collections and drop offs are temporarily suspended until Labor Day. People in the rural villages are most in need but the unpaved roads and running wash-es are impassable to our trailers. We are most grateful for your generosity and support.
For information regarding advertising on the back of our Parish bulletin, please call Claudia Borders at 298-1265.

Each item contains a library card to fill out and a “Return Book” shelf. (Please return the materials so they may be available to others)
