God has given us a tremendous gift in the Holy Eucha‐ristGod has given us His real presence, His own Body and Blood. However, it is a gift with a serious responsibility. When we receive His Body and Blood, we then become His Body of Christ (the Church). As St. Augustine once said: “We become what we have received.”!!
What we consume now consumes us. We allow others to consume us when we live a life of service. St. Teresa (Mother Teresa) once said, “let the people eat you up!” In other words, we must make Jesus Christ real for all. Just as we believe in the “real presence,” now, by the grace of God, we are transformed by the mysteries we have received to become another “real presence” to the world around us.!!
This weekend many of our parishioners will be graduating from colleges, high schools, or grade schools. As they face a future full of many possibilities, this Feast of Corpus Christi challenges us all to ask: How might we be a “real presence” in our world? Become what you have received each Sunday! Just as the priest breaks and shares the Body and Blood with us, so go forth and allow yourself to be broken open and shared in a life of service in the name of Jesus Christ. !!
Stewardship is a way of life in which one realizes that God loves us first. God has blessed us and gifted us uniquely. In response to these gifts, we give back to God with grateful hearts a portion of our gifts to service to His name. You have gifts, you are the Body of Christtogether as a parish may our lives be a “living sacrifice of praise!”!
Msgr. Ed Coyle !
The Diocese of Allentown will ordain one man this weekend to the Priesthood. Pray for and encourage vocations to the Priesthood, Diaconate, and Religious life. Pray for your own vocation and, through prayer, discern your gifts resulting from your Baptism. !
