launching a ministry for Catholic Young Adults. The initial focus of

this ministry will be Community and Worship for young adults from

to know one another and making new friends while enjoying a

delicious homecooked meal prepared by OLC’s chef Bill Bridges.

Dinner will be followed by a Holy Hour with Adoration of the

Blessed Sacrament. During the Holy Hour, there will be time for

both private and communal prayer. Our evening will conclude with

Mass. You can expect to be on your way home by 9:00 pm.

Requested offering for this program is $25 if paid in advance, and

$30 at the door. Register for our evenings for Catholic Young

New Parish App Coming Soon!

In the coming weeks, St. Damien of Molokai will

launch our own app for iPhone and Android smart

phones. This will allow us to better communicate with you

throughout the week and keep you updated with relevant parish

news or updates. The app is very well designed and very

intuitive. It will be a great resource for parishioners by providing

daily Mass readings, Catholic news and prayers, convenient

prayer and Confession reminders, our bulletins and more. We

hope for our new app to be a tool for fostering stronger parish

life at St. Damien of Molokai and better engaging the New

Evangelization. Please watch in the coming weeks for our

official launch news.

When someone does something wrong, how might he or she feel afterwards?

What might one do to correct that wrong?

In today's Gospel, we hear the story of a tax collector who changed his

ways after his encounter with Jesus. Let's listen carefully to the story.

To understand what happens in this story, you need to know that in

Jesus' time, tax collectors often cheated people by collecting more

money from people than was required to pay the tax. Zacchaeus is

described as a chief tax collector and a wealthy man, probably because

he cheated many people.

This story about Zacchaeus reminds us of a sacrament we celebrate in

our Church. What do we celebrate in the Sacrament of Penance?

Answer: We celebrate God's gift of forgiveness.
