Help religious communities. “ Your generous contribution helps us to care for our retired sisters and enables our younger sisters to continue in active ministry,” writes a religious sister. Your gift to today’s Retirement Fund for Religious, helps provide medications, nursing care and more for thousands of senior sisters, brothers and religious order priests. It

also helps ensure younger members can continue the good works of their elders!

We are accepting donations for Christmas flowers.

Perhaps you would like to make a donation in memory of

a deceased family member, friend or in honor of

someone. Names will be published in January.

Prayer for the Second Week of Advent

(two candles are lit)

Leader: Father in heaven, set our hear ts ablaze to

follow in the steps of John the Baptist. May we bring

light and love to all we meet, that the darkness of sin and

fear may be overcome. In Christ’s name we ask this.

All: Amen.

The Joy of Advent: In Webster ’s dictionary we read

that joy is “great happiness or delight.” For the Christian,

in the Holy Season of Advent, true holiday joy is found in

God’s love for us. This love comes to us at once in the

Eucharist and the Sacrament of Reconciliation. Invite our

Savior into your observance of this Holy Season by

attending Mass and participating in our Advent

Reconciliation Service. The service will be held on

Monday, December 11th at 7:00 p.m. at St. Joseph

Church.

We wish to thank all the volunteers who helped to

make our Christmas Dinner & Concert such a

success! St. Damien Parish Choir, under the

direction of Michael Rheault, and the School

Choir, under the guidance of Mrs. Beth Surapine,

offered us beautiful musical selections to get us all in the

spirit of Christmas to honor the new born King! All who

participated in and attended the event are appreciated more

than words can say.

Blessings to you,

Fr. John Melnick and Fr. Andy
