Functional surplus
Use all features, clients, apps, ... of ArcGIS PLUS WebOffice and benefit from its focused admin-istrative, functional and integra-tive additions.
Make maximum use of ArcGIS and extend it: WebOffice
SynerGIS WebOffice is technically a SOE (Server Object Extension) to ArcGIS for Server – a concept ex-plicitly built into ArcGIS to custom-extend it. And that‘s about it for talking technology here – lets focus on major features of WebOffice!
Advantages at a glance
WebOffice has evolved over time – by cooperation and experience coming from customer pro-jects in Europe, the Middle East and USA. Having project references from various market segments like Government, Oil & Gas, Utilities, Transportation or Real Estate proofs the high-level flexibility of WebOffice. The following list represents those features that our longtime users value the most:
Extended workflows
Enterprise maintainability and administrative simplicity are a constant focus of WebOffice. This is a list of important workflows where these advantages will be beneficial:
Centralized maintenance of all project configurations
WebOffice author is your working environment for creation and maintenance of WebOffice projects. Wizards (if preferred a generic edit-mode) plus effective tools provide a straight-forward and efficient way to maintain existing projects or create new ones. Just combine layers from existing published services, pre-de-fined queries and views, layouts for print/reporting and languages offered.
Fine-grained user control
Being able to define access to functions of a WebApp to a fine-grained level gives administrators control and strengthens enterprise security. In WebOffice the services security model is extended to include roles and user-rights based on Layers, Queries, Reports/Plot templates and even Tools.
Minimize risk
You can rely on this maintained product for enterprise use. Gain functional planning reliability and financial predictability that is advantageous compared to individual programming.
Economy of time
Reduce your need of extra know-how, optimize the admin-istrative overhead and use the time gained for content and analysis.
Offer real multi-lingual apps
WebOffice projects can be set up in more than one language: Besides the GUI of the client this also includes anything else: from the Descriptions to select of predefined queries up to the multi-lingual attribute lists (field-names and con-tent) of identify dialogs. By logging in, the end-user decides which language WebOffice uses to communicate in – including Arabic ... right to left.
Browser-based editing & construction
Offer your users a set of editing and construction features in their browser apps that require a Desktop app otherwise. This includes snapping, configu-rable editing tasks, editing of tables and more – all with intuitive handling.
Handle high-end plot requirements
Template-based plotting is a standard feature of ArcGIS. There is a set of re-quirements as known from desktop applications that we implemented to ex-tend this template based plotting: Draw your desired plot frame right in the browser window, create Indexplots along a selected line feature, add properly layoutet tables or import user-based content like LDAP-attributes, logos, ...
Slick presentations by means of professional reports
WebOffice Reporting is your data-integration-platform plus presentation-me-dia. Create meaningful documents that combine geo-data and location with business data coming from the different sources in your enterprise. All of this is accumulated on the server side and available anywhere – even mobile.
Integrate external systems, make use of standard formats
Enterprise workflows usually involve different systems and applications. The ArcGIS ecosystem supports geo-standards like OGC WM(T)S, WFS and CSW services plus numerous file- and web-formats as well as all leading database systems. On top of all that, WebOffice adds more integrational interfaces. A general effect being shorter implementation cycles with predictable costs.
Network trace
Make use of WebOffice for basic network tracing. Without the enhanced fea-tures of a geometric network this will still enable your users to perform basic tracing tasks, like finding street lights connected/not connected to a sege-ment (find connected/disconnected).
Universal WebOffice-ClientsAll WebOffice Clients have something in common: ONE project configuration can be used by all clients! This way, you can instantly work with just the client that meets your immediate need or working situation the best.
Future now: Core Client
The Power-Client of WebOffice – leveraging html 5 and JavaScript. Ribbon-based, modern, highly functional and offering real Web-GIS-Functional-ity, including ArcGIS Online 3D Scenes.
Interactive: Flex Client
This Client has been designed for „vertical“ appli-cations with an optimized yet selective set of fea-tures to support defined repetitive workflows.
A special touch: Mobile Client
Todays devices have touch-interfaces. This client has a GUI reduced to a minimum plus configu-rable „One-Touch“ features.
Enterprise ready: The map widget
If you are in need of a control/widget to embed WebOffice into the application window of another web application – here you go.
