The purpose of Trinity Lutheran School is to equip the child to grow and serve as a disciple of Jesus Christ. Shalom: That Glorious Day! In the book, “No More Jellyfish, Chickens or Wimps,” author Paul Coughlin says this verse is about retaliation and that we should not seek vengeance on someone when we have been wronged. But this verse does not mean that when someone bullies us or wrongs us, we should be quiet. In John 18, an official strikes Jesus in the face for an answer He gave to the high priest. Jesus speaks out and asks the official why he struck him. We teach our students to speak out when someone says or does something to them that they feel is not right, to speak out loud enough to let the teacher and others around know that something is going on that needs to be stopped. This helps bring the situation to the light for all to see so something can be done. God tells us not to seek revenge on anyone, but He does not want us to be silent when others are doing bad things to us. Bring the situation to the light, so God’s Light can shine through our actions. 2nd Quarter Honor Roll We recognize the following students for their academic achievement during the second quarter, which ended January 20, 2017. 2017 Accelerated Reader Challenge Grades 1-8, January 30 – March 10

It is time for our students to increase their reading! This challenge is a healthy competition with other schools in the United States. Its purpose is to provide an incentive and motivation for our children to read more, get smarter and have fun. Reading for this contest can occur anywhere the children are – at home, at school, in the car, etc.

Please encourage your child to read each day to the best of their ability. Set time aside for them to read and even for you to listen to them read.

During the month of February, chapel offerings will be

collected for Feed MY Starving Children (FMSC). FMSC, founded in 1987, is a Christian non-profit that provides nutritionally complete meals specifically formulated for malnourished children. Donations given by people just like you fund the meal ingredients, and volunteers hand-pack the meals. Meals are donated to FMSC food partners around the world, where kids are fed and lives are saved! Bring your chapel offerings and help save lives of children all over the world!
