Here is a link to our school Level 2 Safety Plan. Thank you for your ongoing support. What glorious winter weather we have experienced in the last couple of weeks! It has been great to share all the excing acvies our students across the school have been taking part in. On Sunday the Intermediate students set out across the cook strait to finally experience camp 2020! They are all having a fantasc me at Tea Pot Valley Camp in Nelson. Yesterday they walked the Abel Tasman. Here is a link to some photos of the first couple of days. (thank you David for sharing them). The campers have even been lucky enough to see our nave weka birds throughout the tramp. Abi Jordan is sending through updates throughout the week and we will connue to share photos with you as they come in. If you are family of Intermediate students and would like David to share other photos he has taken, please email him on [email protected] Swimming - Due to the current Level 2 situaon and the uncertainty of the months ahead we have cancelled our school wide swimming programme. Swimming was scheduled for 31 August to 10 September. The students health is our priority. The Junior school had a visit from Fireman Paul as part of the FireWise programme. He talked to the children about what to do in the event of a fire. His key points were: If you see a fire, Yell "Fire, Fire!" As loud as you can. Crawl like a puppy with your nose to the ground, (to go under the smoke) Head towards a door and get out of the house. Don't go back for pets or toys. Have a safe meeng place. The children were given a scker to put on a safe meeng place. This is where the family can meet and then call 111. He also talked about fire alarms and how they can save lives. Please chat to your children about what they learnt. Enrolments for 2021 close on 31st August 2020. Spaces are limited for 2021, so If your child is turning 5 in 2021 and you are intending to enrol your child at OLRS, please collect an enrolment form from the office. OR, if you know of other family members or friends who have children who are turning 5 in 2021 and are interested, please get them to contact the school office to book an appointment regarding their child’s enrolment.

On Thursday 13 August the Year 5-8 students at OLRS enjoyed a fabulous and informative STEM Show. It was space themed and called ‘Launch to the Future’.
