Welcome, Kia Ora, Talofa, kumusta, Mālō ni
What a great start to our new year. It is always a joy to hear and see the buzz and excitement of our students back with their friends and enjoying the opportunity to make new friends. PRIDE in Our Lady of the Rosary - A timely reminder to all our families, please support us to ensure your child/ren are wearing the correct school uniform. Our school regulation SUNHATS are part of the school uniform and extremely important for our children to wear to protect them from the sun. Here at Our Lady of the Rosary we have high expectations regarding all students wearing their correct uniform, showing PRIDE as an OLR student. Please refer to the attached information regarding our school uniform.
Thank you for completing the OLRS Student Internet Agreement that was sent to your email address on Monday 3rd February. If you are yet to do this, you will
need to login to your Signmee account and read through the agreement with your child/ren and ‘sign’ at the bottom. Until this has been completed your child/ren will not be able to use digital devices at OLRS.

ENVIRO SCHOOL As an enviroschool we are working towards our Silver Award. We actively promote reducing rubbish waste and in 2019 our envio group investigated our rubbish and presented the information to the Board of Trustees. As a result our school is RUBBISH FREE in LUNCHBOXES. Children are asked to take home all food wrappers and packaging eg. chippie packets and bar wrappers in their lunch boxes. Please support us in keeping our environment clean and green! The ENVIRO TEAM

Our Lady of the Rosary - Friends of Our School
Chairpersons Report
Hi to all the families and friends of Our Lady of the Rosary community.
The 2019 school year was once again extremely busy for our dedicated team of individuals that make up the
FOS Committee. It was great to see some new parents joining the FOS and sharing their passion and
enthusiasm for our kids and school. This meant that we had new ideas and a few more hands to complete the
many tasks that were involved with fundraising. So I would like to thank all of them for their time and efforts
to raise funds and further improve our kid’s school environment. This was our best year since I joined the FOS
6 years ago. Awesome effort and thanks to the community for supporting our efforts.
Our focus for 2019 was to raise funds for a number of outstanding school requirements including new
Drinking Fountains, Bike Shed (including fit out) Bike stands and a new PA-system. This year we have donated
over $5,500 towards these costs. We are still trying to sort out the Drinking fountains but will keep working
towards getting these sorted during 2020.
This year we ran 10 different fundraising activities including Entertainment Books, Wacky Wednesday, Karma
Keg, Movie Night and our End of Year Raffle. Our biggest fundraising initiatives were:
Easter Raffle $ 1,460
Ice Blocks $ 1,066
Disco $ 1,237
Calendar / Artwork $ 1,212
School Gala $12,714
2019 Grand of Total Funds Raised = $20,356
The Gala was our standout event which brought our community together for a great day of fun. Thanks to all
the people that joined in and helped with this event and made it the success it was. This has meant that the
FOS bank account starts the year in a healthy state and we can focus on delivering some of the bigger wish
list items for our kids during 2020.
The FOS committee would be nothing if it wasn’t for the passion and dedication shown by the small group of
people that meet regularly so special thanks to all members from 2019. Special thanks to Sez Brannigan as
Secretary and Yen Jong as Treasurer. Tonight we have our AGM Meeting at 6:30 in the staff room to kick of
the exciting year ahead. We would love to see all those interested to come along and join us. The more
people we have the more fun we have.

How it works: You fill in the order form indicating what pies you would like to purchase and return with your payment to school by Friday 21st February. Pies will then be delivered to school for pick up on Thursday 5th March. (The pies need to be taken home on this day)
