Im in prayer that the Lord will stir the heart of someone willing to step up and do his work. I have one person willing to work with someone but she cant run it. We need two people from our church to step up as co-directors. Each week another church cooks. So everything is in place with many great vol- unteers that know how things work but we need someone willing to make a few changes and be willing to fill in on the occasion a driver cant make it and make occasional Sams runs. I was led to make changes 2 years into ournontraditional soup kitchen. At that time, we started the delivering and asked different churches to cook. We have been very blessed with how this has not only blessed the recipients, but the community. We have helped with yard work and handicap ramps just by seeing the need and passing on the word to the right people. We also serve many as they go through sickness as well as hard times. Many people depend on this mission; I would hate to see it go away. The Lord has told me it is time for me to step away. This is to give others a chance to help this mission grow. It needs a few people that have a heart for God and His people. This mission works as is but needs a new vision. Some organizational and computer skills would be useful. Please search your heart and prayerfully listen for the Lord to call you. Food for the Soul will not continue if no one steps up. I am willing to train and continue to fill in where needed. The Lord wanted the mission and has continued to provide everything needed. We even have money and need someone to put it to use! I ask you as a congregation to pray about this need. The Lord is telling me changes need to be made but Im not to do it. HE has someone in mind so listen for the call. I want to thank all who have supported me and this ministry. I know you will continue to support it and all new people who take over. Your friend in Christ, Diana South

From Our Soup Kitchen Director

It is with a heavy heart that I have made the decision to step away from chairing Food for the Soul. July 21st will be the last Thursday Mary Burns and I will run soup kitchen. After 11 yrs, it is time for me to concentrate on family and my health. I’m in prayer that the Lord will stir the heart of someone willing to step up and do his work. I have one person willing to work with someone but she can’t run it. We need two people from our church to step up as co-directors. Each week another church cooks. So everything is in place with many great vol-unteers that know how things work but we need someone willing to make a few changes and be willing to fill in on the occasion a driver can’t make it and make occasional Sam’s runs. I was led to make changes 2 years into our” nontraditional “soup kitchen. The Lord is telling me changes need to be made but I’m not to do it. HE has someone in mind so listen for the call. I want to thank all who have supported me and this ministry. I know you will continue to support it and all new people who take over. Your friend in Christ, Diana South

Summer Sunday School Starts 6/5!

Children will move into Sunday School for the first time if they turned 3 or will move up into the next grade Pre-K through 5th grade. Our Preschoolers classroom is 1st floor across from the nursery. Our combined classes of K-2nd and 3rd-5th will be upstairs. We are excited to enjoy a fun board game every Sunday that takes us through the Bible together. Thank you for the Teachers who have volunteered their time to keep these programs running and learn and grow together this summer!

Preschoolers- Amen

This summer, we’ll explore the Lord’s Prayer. We'll learn about Paul and Silas, David, and Jonah—three great examples of power prayers. Plus, they’ll see how each of their prayers connects to the way Jesus taught us to pray. Teachers-Kelly Henderson, Melanie Tillman, Lyndsey Oexmann, Jessica Glover, Peggy Witherow, and Anna Cobb

K-2nd Grade-Kersplash

This summer, we’ll dive into God’s Word and travel to Jerusalem, Judea, and the ends of the earth as they learn about the early church. We’ll experience how the church first began, the opposition the early Christians met, and Paul’s journeys on the high seas. Teachers-Stephanie Keen, Jenny Cordell, Wellons Hallman, Tricia Brown, Beth Williams, and Angela Robinett

3rd-5th Grade-Her Ye, Hear Ye

This summer, we’ll walk through the book of Judges as we learn about Bible heroes like Ehud, Deborah, Gideon, and Samson. We’ll see how God used judges to rescue Israel from oppression and how Israel kept falling into a cycle of sin that led to more oppression. Teachers-Julie Chapman, Heather Hammond, Sara Goldrick, Carrie Bennett and Janine Blakeborough
