    Fentimans Ginger Beer

    Target Group:

    Ginger Beer drinkers looking for a classic, nonalcoholic treat.

    History:

    Thomas Fentiman, an iron manufacturer from West Yorkshire, got a recipe for botanically brewed ginger beer in 1905. He acquired the recipe when a fellow tradesman approached Fentiman for a loan but never repaid it. The firm became a door-to-door ginger beer sales company. During the mid-1960s the company ran into trouble, as supermarkets were taking over the door-to-door trade, and closed down. In 1988, Eldon Robson, great-grandson of Fentiman, started the business again, relaunching the brand.

    The brewery is now based out of Pennsylvania at Lion Brewery Inc. They distribute Fentimans products in the United States.

    Big Design Idea:

    Because the bottle is classic and gives the right feel, I want to keep with the same with new labels that have more design that gives it an old company feel. As a brewed drink that isnt alcoholic, there is a fine line between classy and deceiving, but I plan on riding it in order to maintain, as I said before, the old-town brewery feel of the company and bottle.

    Because the target is similar to that of IBC or other glass-bottled sodas, I want to be similar, but having an old-fashioned brand will keep a separate identity from other similar products. With the new design, the brand will be more appealing and increase sales dramatically.

    Labels on the front and back are approximately 2in x 2.75inThe cap logo is approximately 7/8in x 7/8inThe logo is the same that Fentimans consistently uses. There is a copyright next to the on the cap label.The Fenitmans name is always in the script font for branding and consistency.The text on the outside of the is the light along with the white oval to concentrate focus on the center of the label with the most important information (name, product, etc.) All capitals use the CAPS serif, and all other text is in the normal serif. Keep text small except titles and names.
