Japrotek

The opera)ons in Pietarsaari begun in the late 40’s and were from the very start focused on the fabrica)on of stainless steel equipment. Later on )tanium and nickel alloys were included in the program. Our business has always been export orientated as 50‐70 % of our produc)on is exported. Our main customers are chemical, hydrometallurgical, pulp&paper and other process industries and power generators in Finland, Scandinavia and the German speaking countries but we all the )me export worldwide. Japrotek is specialized in the design and manufacture of large and complex pressure vessels and tanks. We are located close to the deep sea harbour and can ship items

80 m long or 9,5 m wide in one piece on ocean‐going ships. We are familiar with most interna)onal vessel codes and have been approved by several na)onal pressure vessels authori)es.

The main part of the pressure vessels we deliver are designed and manufactured according to the European Pressure Vessel Code or the ASME VIII.1. We can also adopt other na)onal codes. Our QA‐program is cer)fied according to ISO 9001 and our welding processes according to

ISO 3834‐2. We are holders of the ASME U‐stamp. Our environmental system is cer)fied according to ISO 14001 and our health and safety rou)nes to OHSAS 18001. We are Achilles‐approved suppliers to the North Sea oil industry.

CerRficates and approvals

Materials Japrotek works are in principle clean shops, where carbon steel is not cut, ground or welded. We work in all stainless steels and nickel alloys but today the bulk is made up of the different duplex grades. Titanium is an important material

for us. When needed )tanium work can be separated from the rest of the workshop. Leaching autoclaves and other large high pressure vessels are built from )tanium clad carbon steel whereby the carbon steel frame work is subcontracted .

The workshops are laid out for effec)ve and exact assembly and handling of long and complex columns. Trays with exac)ng requirements on horizontality can be installed in standing‐up column sec)ons. Columns even 75 m long or 9,5 m in diameter can be transported in one piece to the close‐by deep sea harbor. The columns are equipped with internals and trays manufactured to customer specifica)ons or types available on the market. We perform stability calcula)ons including wind and seismic loads. Japrotek has a long experience of manufacturing absorp)on, dis)lla)on, oxida)on, extrac)on and other columns for the produc)on of hydrogen peroxide, nitric acid, alcohol, cellulose and many other processes.

Columns and towers


Various types of highly engineered pressure vessels for performing a chemical process step or a phase conversion is the most typical vessels designed and manufactured by Japrotek. The size varies from smaller than 1 m3 to more than 250 m3 with pressure up to 100 bar. The vessel mostly is equipped with heat transfer surfaces such as internal pipe coils or thermo channels and external half pipes, limpet coils, dimple jacket or full jacket. If needed the vessel with internals is ground to mirror finish and electro polished. Almost all reactors are delivered with an agitator designed and dimensioned for the pressure, temperature and mixing process at hand.

Reactors


Japrotek is one of few companies capable of designing and manufacturing large high pressure leaching autoclaves for the hydrometallurgical industry where all internal parts are )tanium or nickel alloy.

The autoclaves are equipped with Japrotek heavy‐duty )tanium or stainless steel autoclave agitators meaning that Japrotek can deliver a func)oning process unit.

Japrotek can manufacture even the largest TEMA‐type tube and shell heat exchanger.

For more than 40 years Japrotek has built large stainless steel site‐erected tanks and towers at pulp and paper mills and at their pigment and chemical suppliers. We have built tank farms on all con)nents.

The tanks are built in any austeni)c or duplex stainless steel and are delivered complete with top mounted agitators.

PrefabricaRon process Japrotek has developed and perfected a process for prefabrica)ng tank parts in the workshop through which the major part of the welding work can be performed and tested using mechanized methods under controlled and exact working condi)ons. All transports to the erec)on site are made with normal trucks or ISO sea containers. The advantages over tradi)onal site‐welding is befer and consistent weld quality. Site assembly of the parts is swig and can either be part of our delivery scope or be made by competent local erec)on crews under Japrotek supervision. The tanks are tailor made to customer requirements and normally designed and manufactured according to EN 14015 standard.


Japrotek has delivered equipment to all nuclear power plants in Finland and Sweden such as tanks, pressure vessels, spent fuels racks, gas washers, reactor internals, heat exchangers etc. We made a significant delivery of large pressure vessels to the Olkiluoto 3 project.

Throughout its history Japrotek has supplied the chemical and metallurgical industries with tanks, pressure vessels, heat exchangers etc. built in )tanium.

Many of the tanks and vessels in the process industry are equipped with agitators. Japrotek is one of very few companies that can supply both tanks and agitators and manufacture to form a func)oning process unit. We are able to

offer a complete line of both horizontally and ver)cally mounted agitators for energy‐effec)ve s)rring of even the largest storage tank as well as high intensity mixing of reactors at high pressure.
