INSTRUCTIONS

The following are the basic steps to install the

software:

1. Double-Click on setup and run

it

Read via SMS: If u select read via SMS then the Program will readthe messages from GSM modem and run the commands on PC written in

SMS .

The SMS received at GSM modem/Mobile Phone Connected via either

Bluetooth or chord.

The messages are of Special Format and as soon as the message is

received at GSM Modem with commands written in it runs on the PC. It

feels like we have remote control over Our PC

Read via e-mail: The Program will read the messages from emailand run the commands on PC written in email.

How To Connect GSM Modem:-

Using USB: *Note drivers of GSM modem are required. We have given driver in Endversion folder for micromax phones

1. Connect the GSM modem using cord to the USB port

2. Select the COM port option in connecting options of the phone and

give the COM port to the program as well, in general case COM

port 1 and 2 are not recommended.

3. Once the COM port is selected the program can read the message

from the inbox of the GSM Modem (i.e. a mobile phone).

4. Now if we send message to the connected mobile in format of a

proper command, the command will be executed.

Using Bluetooth:

Windows XP comes with a Bluetooth configuration utility that you canuse to help define a new device that we can connect to. We will usethis utility to set up a virtual serial port that we can use to communicatewith the Bluetooth enabled Garcia.

o This configuration utility can be found under the WindowsControl Panel, then launch the Bluetooth Devices application.

o Click the "Add" button to begin configuring the virtual serial linkas shown in the following image.

o Click on the Add button under the Devices menu.o Make sure your Bluetooth enabled Garcia is turned on and set

to discoverable mode. The Wizard helps verify this question byrequiring you to check a box indicating the Bluetooth device isready. Now, let the Wizard search and discover any Bluetoothdevices that are in Discoverable mode.

o Check the box to search for any discoverable devices.o If the Garcia is properly configured and powered up, the Garcia

should be found by the Wizard.

o Garcia is found during the Bluetooth device search.o Select the Garcia device and click the Next button. This begins

the process of setting up the necessary information to definewhat needs to happen to pair a host Bluetooth device with theGarcia.

o Enter the Bluetooth device passkey information to establish

pairing.o The default passkey value for the Garcia Bluetooth adapter is

"1234". You can change this value if necessary for securitypurposes. This process is outlined in the BluetoothConfiguration Tutorial .

o The Wizard will define COM ports on your machine for usingthe Bluetooth wireless connection. In this example, the Wizarddefined COM6 as a "Generic Serial Port" as shown below.

6. Setup in GSM Modem mode:

1. Insert Comport in the input box from the list shown.

E.g. COM3

Please select the COM PORT at which your GSM Modem is

connected otherwise if you insert wrong comports at which is actually

present but GSM Modem is not connected on that than the program

will be hanging.

So COM1, COM2 are not recommended.

2. Insert Memory to be accessed in GSM Modem.

These select the message storage area that will be used when

sending, receiving, reading, writing or deleting SMS messages.

SM. It refers to the message storage area on the SIM card.

ME. It refers to the message storage area on the GSM/GPRS modem or mobilephone. Usually its storage space is larger than that of the message storage areaon the SIM card.

MT. It refers to all message storage areas associated with the GSM/GPRSmodem or mobile phone. For example, suppose a mobile phone can access twomessage storage areas: "SM" and "ME". The "MT" message storage area refersto the "SM" message storage area and the "ME" message storage areacombined together.

BM. It refers to the broadcast message storage area. It is used to store cellbroadcast messages.

SR. It refers to the status report message storage area. It is used to store statusreports.

TA. It refers to the terminal adaptor message storage area.

Note that a GSM/GPRS modem or mobile phone may not support all the above valuesand it may support other manufacturer specific values. To learn how to find the valuessupported by your GSM/GPRS modem or mobile phone.

3. Select the Encoding type :

Set command informs TA of which character set is used by the TE. TA is then able to convertcharacter strings correctly between TE and ME character sets.When TA-TE interface is set to 8-bitoperation and used TE alphabet is 7 bit, the highestbit shall be set to zero.Read command returns thecurrent setting and test command displays conversion schemes implemented in the TA.

8. Now send message from SMS/E-mail.

2. FUNCTION NAME: The 5 letter function name is as follow:-

a. Shell: If the message contains SHELL as Function name then

MessageDATA should contain path/run command /cmd command. Whenthe message will received, command will be executed. Following are some

examples of message formats :

i. PASS1 SHELL "C:\Program Files\Windows Media Player\wmplayer.exe"

ii. PASS1 SHELL CALC

iii. PASS1 SHELL CMD*here we have written pass1 it can be other password specified by user

b. Email: if the message function name is email then message data should

contain to, subject, body etc. So the message format will be as follows

Caution the AT commands of GSM Modem does not supports @.So instead of using

@ we will use _at_

Here are some examples:

d. state : This is used to change the state of application i.e.

visible,invisible,close etc.

If you use the state as the function name /work name then the message data can

contain:

i. close : this will close the application.

ii. visible=true :this will make the application visibleiii. visible=false :this will make the application invisible

Now to change the application states the message should have the following

Now see calc is opened as application read the SMS .Similar thing willhappen in case of email.

Similarly we can run songs by passing command

DEBUG

In case of any problem in executing program go to setting and Click on forget

settings

In case you have forgot your five letter password :

Open End-Version folder and Run Forgetpass.reg

In case you have left opacity = 0%:Then message through e-mail /SMS :

OR

Open End-Version folder and Run Opacity100%.reg

A request to organizers and coordinators

If you run the software on a particular PC for testing then after you handover thesoftware to the judges on the same PC. Incase please go to Settings>Click on Delete

all settings button.

This is because some of the forms are one time form. This form comes under the

installation of program and that wizard mode helps to understand the program.

And go to Add or Remove program and uninstall it. And again install it in front ofjudges because easy installation is one of the point of evaluation.
