What do you mean by past civilization ?

• The term civilization basically means the level of development at which people live together peacefully in communities, Ancient civilization refers specifically to the first settled and stable communities that became the basis for later states, nations, and empires.

Stable food supply in ancient egypt • Most egyptians lived near nile river because any other

place was very dry. Every year, the nile river flood and it made the ground fertile. So many egyptians grew crops like wheat, barley, vegetables, fruits there. Beside, they also had pigs, geese, goats and cattle in their fields to plow the soil. The ancient egyptians eat antelope, gazelles, cranes, honey, caviar and fish which they caught from nile river. They made bread from the grain. They also made wine and beer. They didn’t ate pig, because they thought pigs carried leprosy. They cook their food in clay ovens or over open fires

• The main food of egytians is bread. The use white flour or whole wheat to make pita bread. It can be eaten plain or filled with vegie, meat, sauce to create egyptians snadwhich.

• Bean also the daily food of egyptians. Their native beans are fuul, lentil, pink and fav. They usually cook it with vegie and spice

• They have a large variety of fruits, such as bananas, dates, orange, melon, grapes, and peaches.

• Egyptians like to eat kebab, usually it is made of lamb and marianted with lemon juice. They also eat grilled chicken, seafood and pigeon.

Religion in ancient egypt

Religion is a very important aspect in Egyptian life. Their religion was based on polytheism, or the worship of many deities, except for during the religion of Akenaton. The Egyptians had as many as 2000 gods and goddesses. Some, such as Amun, were worshipped throughout the whole country, while others had only a local following. Often gods and goddesses were represented as part human and part animal.

• Most of egyption people are muslim. There are also many christian in egypt, they are about 10 % of the population. They belong to orthodoty church.

• There are also jews live in egyt, but the number is not too many because most of them had emigrated to israel and us.

• There are a lot of mosque there, from thevery big and famous mosque till small mosque in neighborhood

• The muslims are suposed to pray 5 times a day. Friday is their holiday in which they all go to mosque to pray. All buissness, school and office close on Friday

• Christian celebrate christmas on january 7 each year. They go to church, visit family and friends, and also exchange gift.

• Ramadan is holy day month for muslim it is the ninth month of the year. Muslims are fasting from sunrise till sunset.

• The ramandan end on the first day of shawwal month.

• They celebrate it as eid al fitr

Government in ancient egypt • Every civilization was bulit upon rules and

regulation. In ancient Egypt, government revolved heavily around a single figure, the pharoah who the poeple believe to be a living god. This statues basically granted the pharoah (who was, in almost all cases, a man) virtually limitless power and control over his subjects. The type of government in ancient Egypt was a theocracy. Even in the New Kingdom, when akhenaton forced the people to put aside the 'old gods' in favor of a single god, religion and government were tightly entwined.

The pharoah is the head of the country and become god’s representative in the country. religion and government brought an rder to the society through contruction of making like temple the creation of laws, taxation, the organization of labour, trade with neighbours of country’s interest. The pharoah was exsist by a hierarcy of advisors, priest, official and administration.

• Egyptian is the oldest known indigenous language of Egypt and a branch of the Afroasiatic language family. Written records of the Egyptian language have been dated from about 3400 BC. Making it is one of the oldest recorded laguage known outside of sumerian. Egyption was spoken untiul the late 17th century AD infront of coptic. modern-day Egypt is egyption arabic , which gradually replaced Coptic as the language of daily life in the centuries after the Muslim conquest of Egypt. Coptic is still used as the liturgical language of the Coptic Church. It has a handful of fluent speakers today.

• Most people who visit Egypt have little problems with communications because those working in the tourist sector are usually adept in at least several different languages. Typically, most of them speak some English, and many of them fluently. French is also a traditional language, but so too is German and Italian. Perhaps less common, are the Spanish, Russian, Japanese and Chinese languages, but of course there are specialized guides that are also fluent in most any language, who accompany various tours.

From what the archeologist have dicovered, in ancient egypt:

• Father was responsible to provide family needs

• Mother watch the house hold and take care of the children

• Children had toys and like to play, but most of their time was preaparing for their adulthbod

• Ancient egyptians had furniture in simple design. Their cooking equipment was saucepan pottery with two handle, backed clay stove, and cylindrical

• Both men and women wore jewelery

• The ancient egyptians had supersitions, so they wore amulets, which were amulets charm.

• 50% of population is peasantry, the other 50% are rich socially elite.

• Most of them live near nile river

• They have good progress in the field of media (eg: TV, redio, music, film, journalism ) althought still controlled by the government

• Women in egypt are expected to be consertive and modest, because the follow islamic principles for women. Women are ducated, and most of them are working such as doctors, lawyer and other jobs

• Women have to keep their arms and legs covered.

Technology in Ancient egypt • The Ancient Egyptians were one of the first civilizations to form

in the ancient world. Their inventions and technology had an impact on many civilizations to come. Their technology included the ability to build large construction projects such as pyramid and palaces, simple machines such as ramps and levers, and a complex system of government and religion.

• Writing

One of the most important inventions of the Ancient Egyptians was writing. They wrote in hieroglyphics. You can learn more about hieroglyphics here . Writing allowed the Egyptians to keep accurate records and maintain control of their large empire.

Some of their medicines were quite strange. For example, they used honey and human brains to cure eye infections. They also used a whole cooked mouse to help cure coughs. Many of their medicines were accompanied by spells to ward off the evil spirits making the person sick.

With the Nile River playing a major role in the lives of the Egyptians, building ships was a big part of their technology. They originally built small boats from papyrus reeds, but later began to build large ships from cedar wood imported from Lebanon.MathematicsThe Egyptians needed a good understanding of mathematict and geometry to build the pyramids and other large buildings. They also used math and numbers to keep track of business transactions. For numbers they used a decimal system. They didn't have numerals for 2 - 9 or zero. They just had numbers for factors of 10 such as 1, 10, 100, etc. In order to write the number 3 they would write down three number 1s. To write the number 40, they would write down four number 10s.

• MakeupAll Egyptians wore makeup, even the men. They made a dark eye makeup called kohl from soot and other minerals. The makeup was a fashion statement, but it also had the side affect of protecting their skin from the hot desert sun.ToothpasteBecause their bread had so much grit and sand in it, the Egyptians had a lot of problems with their teeth. They invented the toothbrush and toothpaste in an effort to take care of their teeth. They used a wide variety of ingredients to make their toothpaste including ashes, eggshells, and even ground up ox hooves.

• Egyptians agriculture was transformed over the last century because of development in technologies. Now they used perential irrigation, mechanization, pestidices and chemical fertilizers, last time they used bassin

• Egypt have resolution in technology and information. They claim that twitter, facebook, and blogs largely drove events in egypt. It also transfroming world politics. Because of the rapid technology advancesm they have decreased the cost of creating, finding, and transmiting information.

• They also have the academy of scientific reasearch and technology in cairo (founed in 1972) to learn about agriculture, medicine, science and technology.
