The Parma Area Chamber of Commerce serves the cities of Parma, Parma Heights and Seven Hills. Each city is conveniently located to downtown Cleveland and area freeways. The three cities offer quality education, an array of shopping sites, numerous family parks, and varied recreational opportunities.
The Chamber of Commerce is the proactive voice of its members, as well as the businesses and residential community. The Chamber promotes, encourages, and protects the development of professional, commercial, industrial, and general business interests of the area. For almost 60 years, the Parma Area Chamber of Commerce has been welcoming visitors, new residents and providing forums for our member businesses to flourish. We collectively make a difference through partnerships with government, education and associate organizations to help make the tri-city area a better place to live, work and play. We continue to maintain a strong core membership, develop new programs and react to the ever-changing economic and social environment.
As advocates for the business sector, the Chamber provides leadership and services to local businesses and offers members the opportunity to promote their businesses through a variety of events such as monthly luncheons and business after hours networking events.
The Parma Area Chamber of Commerce also takes a very active role in the community by participating in CBS (Community, Business, Schools) Partnership. The Parma Area Chamber together with the Parma City School District founded CBS in 1991. This collaboration has been recognized many times for one of the best community partnerships in the State of Ohio. We also support local students through an Annual Business Scholarship and the Don Reiman Pre-Law Scholarship. The Parma Area Chamber is also host to the largest annual community event, the Rib ‘N Rock cook-off. With support from local businesses, this family-friendly festival features a competition for best ribs and best sauce along with top-notch entertainment, rides and
an array of ethnic foods. Membership in the Chamber is a great business
decision that gives businesses a competitive edge in the regional business community. The Parma Area Chamber of Commerce is dedicated to making Parma, Parma Heights, and Seven Hills a better place to live, work and conduct business.
We encourage your support of the many local businesses that helped make this publication possible and we hope you use this directory to discover the business, recreational and residential opportunities our area has to offer. Please give us a call at 440-886-1700 if we can be
of service and we hope you will utilize and enjoy the 2013-14 Community Guide. Thank you.

The City of Parma
l Community Overview
Hello and welcome to Parma! We are proud of our cultural diversity and of how we celebrate our various heritages. We are proud of our bakeries, our meat shops and our comprehensive faith community. We have more than 60 places of worship right here in Parma.
I’m proud to be Mayor here in Ohio’s seventh-largest city. Parma is a city in which cultures come together and people take pride in being good neighbors. Our administration believes we have positioned our community to be a player in the success of Northeast Ohio’s growth.
We are home to big business and small business. We encour-age support of independent businesses and we are proud of our strong relationship with the businesses we have within our city. We are very excited to see the work begin on the former Parma-town Mall property – the Shoppes at Parma will help solidify what we see as a city center that encompasses the mall, City Hall, Parma Hospital, Stearns Farm and the Day Drive corridor. Additionally, this fall will see the opening of the newest jewel in the Cuyahoga County Public Library system – a multi-million dollar main branch just behind City Hall.
We are excited to have initiated a sister city relationship with Lviv, Ukraine, and along with our considerable community of Ukrainians, we are looking forward to the cultural, economic and educational opportunities that this partnership promises to bring.
I invite you to visit us in Parma - stop, look around, and explore. You will likely see our residents enjoying a large variety of recreational activi-ties and taking part in free family-oriented entertainment, taking pride in

As Recreation Director of the City of Parma, I am very fortunate to be part of an administration headed by Mayor Tim DeGeeter as he values the importance of recreation for residents of all ages.
The City of Parma offers its residents many amenities within our 19 parks throughout the City. These amenities include tennis, basketball and sand volleyball courts; miniature and disc golf; bocce ball; fishing in our stocked lakes; and playgrounds, including our newest handicapped-accessible ADA approved playground at Veterans Memorial Park. There are also pavilions and grills at various parks for great family picnic fun. Residents can also take part in our walking and exercise trails at James Day Park and Veterans Memorial Park.
During the summer season, the city has three outdoor pools, and for those who enjoy good music, there are free band con-certs at the Ridgewood Lake Pavilion. There also is a free out-door Family Movie Night that includes carnival games and is a fun evening for all. From September through April, the Michael A. Ries Ice Rink is open to the public and, weather permitting, one can enjoy 18 holes of golf at the Ridgewood Municipal Golf Course year round.
Along with our many youth and adult activities we offer throughout the year, Parma also offers an adaptive sports program to individuals with physical and mental limitations that inhibit them from participating in traditional recreational programs. This program is called Parma Pride.
Our City’s philosophy is one of safety, participation and sportsmanship. We encourage active participation and family enjoyment of the City of Parma’s facilities and recreation pro-grams. For more information on parks and recreation in the City of Parma, call the recreation department at 440-885-8144.

The Donna Smallwood Activities Center and Parma Office on Aging is here for you! Located behind City Hall, the Smallwood Center provides activities, meals, and smiles to Parma’s senior community.
The senior “multipurpose” center offers daily activities Monday through Friday from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. Increasing numbers of people reach 60 years of age every year. We welcome the opportunity to serve those people. These older adults are given priority to the nutritional lunch program and transportation program. The staff and dedicated volunteers make life easier for those who come to the Center.
Human Services efforts are extended to make sure our older adults have every opportunity to remain independent and in their own homes. We focus in particular on helping the frail, isolated, and homebound individuals of our community. Other services provided include: transportation, outreach assistance, and various nutritional meals programs. There are wellness programs such as blood pressure screening, low vision support group, and the Healing Hearts support group. Many enjoy the strength exercise, line dancing, sunshine sing along, craft group, quilters, pinochle, bridge, checkers and billiards. Everyone enjoys the fun at the monthly parties, dances, Sunshine Singers, Raising Canes entertainment and group traveling.
For more information about our various services and programs, call the center at 440-885-8800.

We believe that our residents are our most important asset. We work hard every day to make Parma the best community it can be in which to live, work and raise our families. We believe that our residents are guided by this vision as well. We’re proud to work together toward this goal, for it is by working together that it will be realized.

The City of Parma Heights the cities of Brooklyn and Brook Park, allowing our residents access to their recreation centers.
In Parma Heights, we pride ourselves on the fact that nearly every citizen is within easy walking distance of a park. With the opening of the new Parma Heights/Big Creek Connector Trail this year, that even includes the Metroparks Big Creek Reservation. A 1,500-foot path and bridge spanning the Big Creek now join the Greenbrier Commons to seven miles of Metroparks multipurpose trails.
Our professional safety forces have response times among the best in Cuyahoga County. Parma Heights offers two life-saving services to our residents free-of-charge: CodeRED, a reverse 9-1-1 system that allows residents to receive phone and text warnings of emergency situations and “Are You OK?”, a voluntary program that contacts our senior citizens by phone to make sure they are alright.
Parma Heights is a great place to live, work, raise a family and retire. We invite you to discover the benefits of living and working in Parma Heights - a place where you can experience all of our small town amenities in our big city location.
Sincerely, Michael P. Byrne Mayor of Parma Heights

In real estate, it’s all about location and Parma Heights is a small-town oasis
in a convenient, central location only minutes away from Cleveland Hopkins International Airport. Adjacent to I-71 and I-480 via our Pearl Road and West 130th Street corridors, there is easy
access to Cleveland north and points south, east and west.
With a wide range of home styles to choose from – everything from century homes, to mid-century modern, to new construction - Parma Heights offers the perfect home choice for almost any buyer. And now, we offer two new programs: Heritage Home, which offers both technical and financial assistance on home improvement projects and a citywide Community Reinvestment Area (CRA) that allows homeowners to apply for a 10-year tax abatement on the increase in home value resulting from improvement projects.
Our city offers quiet tree-lined streets, a delightful variety of restaurants featuring international and American cuisine, small businesses dedicated to customer satisfaction, and a wide-variety of recreational options including an outdoor pool complex located in our 25-acre Greenbrier Commons and year-round live productions at the Cassidy Theatre. Additionally, our Recreation Department provides year-round activities for residents of all ages and programs including partnerships with

Regularly scheduled activities at the Center include chair dancing, chair yoga, aerobics, card games, Wii, movies, bingo, health screenings, educational speakers and a book club. A Congregate Meal lunch is served Monday through Friday at 12:00 p.m. at the Senior Center. Home delivered meals are available to qualified homebound senior residents through the Meals on Wheels program and specialized diets are available from Parma Community General Hospital for delivery.
There are also many special programs offered at the Center throughout the year that are available to residents of all ages: twice-a-year the Cleveland Sight Center’s traveling “Eye-dea Shop” brings educational information and products for purchase; the first Monday of the month at 11:00 a.m., a Cleveland Food Bank representative comes to assist residents by linking them to available county programs; and the Parma Heights branch of the Cuyahoga County Public Library comes to the Center twice a

Recreation has always been a huge part of the City of Parma Heights. The Recreation Department is constantly looking for ways to expand existing programs while adding new programs and activities to meet the needs of all our residents.
The newest, most exciting addition to our recreational offerings is the Parma Heights/Big Creek Connector Trail linking the Greenbrier Commons in the heart of Parma Heights to the Cleveland Metroparks. Our 25-acre Greenbrier Commons also hosts our waterpark complete with diving and kiddie pools, a sand volleyball court, bocce ball court, play area, tennis courts and the NEO soccer facility. The Commons is also home to the Cassidy Theatre which offers year-round live stage productions, youth theatre classes and numerous opportunities for community participation.
Every year, the Commons is the scene of the Summer Band Concert series, outdoor Movie-in-the-Commons events, annual Gazebo Gallop and Kids Dash activities and the popular Week-end in the Commons.
But the Commons is not the only park in the city of Parma Heights! Six other parks located throughout our community put recreational opportunities within a half-mile of nearly every resident. Additionally, Mayor Byrne has signed partnerships with the cities of Brooklyn and Brook Park allowing residents access to these neighboring cities' year-round indoor facilities.
Our expanded soccer program, new flag football program, classes in a variety of activities from yoga to golf for resi-dents of all ages, soccer tournament, increase in the number of baseball and softball teams and our annual Hit, Pitch and Run competition just scratch the surface of all the fun things to do in Parma Heights. See you in the parks!

10 2013 - 2014 Parma Area Chamber of Commerce Membership Directory & Community Guide
Founded in 1927, Seven Hills is a proud family community located “at the center of it all” in southern Cuyahoga County. We are within minutes of world-class medical facilities, major league sports, museums, restaurants and entertainment, a vibrant night life, and we are a diverse community of experience and traditions to share. We are home to almost 12,000 residents and part of the Parma City School District. Our high school students attend the highly-rated Normandy High School.
The first order of business for the new city administration coming into office 19 months ago was to restore the financial stability of Seven Hills. We did that by creating more efficiencies; and we are still looking at more streamlining by exploring ways to share expenses with our neighboring communities-- a regional effort now also promoted by former county Prosecutor Bill Mason and others. These efforts will permit the city to now begin addressing its infrastructure and street needs with a five-year capital improvement plan.
Despite the challenging national economy, the reorganization we implemented has permitted Seven Hills to maintain its bond rating and to take full advantage of 21st century opportunities. The results are already coming in balanced budgets, an increased general fund balance, practical elimination of recreation center losses, new financial arrangements on things
l Community OverviewC H A M B E R O F C O M M E R C EParma Area
like our cell tower leases and an agreement with the Parma Community General Hospital for space and utilization at the
Recreation Center for physical therapy and wellness programs.
All this has enhanced the city’s new “Business Friendly” posture and our ability to keep and attract business
investment. So Seven Hills is “open for business”.
If you are not already familiar with our city, then please take a tour, visit our Recreation Center, or even contact the office of Mayor Richard Dell’Aquila (216-524-4421) for a more formal review of the available investment opportunities here. You may be surprised at what you discover, like our safety forces, staff and employees whose dedication and professionalism are second to none.
There are truly few communities that can offer as much as Seven Hills can, both in terms of a close-knit family lifestyle and business investment opportunities.
Sincerely,
Richard P. Dell’Aquila Mayor of Seven Hills

The City of Seven Hills strives to aid and honor its senior citizens through assistance, programs and services offered through the Senior Citizen Coordinators office. The combination of the Community Recreation Center and City Hall serve as gathering places for social and informational support. The business partners of Seven Hills and the surrounding area support many traditional senior activities such as the quarterly luncheons as well as the Senior Discount Snow Plow Program. Stay tuned for updates on these and many other programs at www.sevenhillsohio.org. The Silver Sneakers Program lends itself well to Seven Hills and many senior residents take advantage of this and other programs on a daily basis.
Seniors are the backbone of the community and Seven Hills is continually looking for creative and innovative ways to support them. Mayor Dell’Aquila, Seven Hills City Coun-cil and the Seniors Department are all committed to creating and administering the best quality service and care for their senior population. This, among many others, is the reason Seven Hills is a wonderful place to call home. For more information, you may contact Chris Matthews in the Seniors Office at 216-525-6230.

Now in our 10th year, the Seven Hills Community Recreation Center celebrates health, wellness and community! We welcome members and guests of any age and any city with updated programs, classes, leagues and more.
Did you know Seven Hills has a Youth Swim Team? And they are good too! The Seven Hills Seahawks – over 60 strong swimming kids – finished their 9th season with a splash! Swim Team is a year round program, encouraging individual and team improvements and offered in four sessions! Not yet ready for the swim team? That’s ok – our Learn To Swim Program can help too! As an American Red Cross program, we adhere to the guidelines taught by professionals for years. Even adults can learn – we have various classes available.
Last year the cities of Seven Hills and Parma entered into a partnership allowing discounted rates for Parma Residents to join the Seven Hills Recreation Center. This also allows Seven Hills Residents to take advantage of golf, ice skating and outdoor pools in Parma at a discounted rate.
Being part of such a great community allows the Seven Hills Recreation Center to offer programs such as Before and After Care, Kids Days Off and Summer Day Camp (Ages 3 – 15) that coincide with the Parma City School Calendar! We provide affordable, safe and, most of all, fun care for your children. Our trained staff is here when you need us from 6:30 a.m. until 6 p.m. for the above programs.
Our Youth and Adult Programs are constantly changing – offering a variety of popular new programs like Zumba

Fun, Friends and FutskilzAbound at N.E.O. Soccer in Parma Heights
N.E.O. Soccer in Parma Heights has brought attention and opportunity to the community for over a decade. Featured recently by Channel 8 news in the “Kickin it with Kenny” segment, the fun atmosphere was on display. “Kenny Crumpton told me that he wanted to do a segment at N.E.O. because when it comes to coed adult soccer, N.E.O. is always mentioned first,” said Chris Mueller, owner and founder of N.E.O. Soccer. N.E.O. has also been home to the N.E.O. soccer club, a premier club that boasts many Championship teams over the years, playing against regional, national and international competition. “One of our many highlights this year was the 14 girls premier team playing against the Chinese National team in the finals of the 2013 Continental Cup,” said Jan Mertens, co-owner. In the current year, N.E.O. is adding the nationally recognized “Futskilz” soccer training program to its offerings. “Futskilz” has training that spans from the Great Lakes all the way to the Gulf of Mexico,” says Heidi Mueller, founder of Futskilz. Futskilz encompasses a variety of training, from beginners to the “Futskilz Elite” program aimed at those committed to excellence. N.E.O. has been a leading developer

The Parma City School District is proud to serve 12,500 students in grades K-12 residing in the cities of Parma, Parma Heights, and Seven Hills. We are one of only a few districts across the state to have maintained an “Excellent” rating from the State of Ohio among districts of similar size and economic status.
Last year our schools focused on making needed changes to ensure our schools keep pace with national school reforms, while making the best use of taxpayer dollars to provide students with the education and support they deserve. Closing four elementary buildings, reassigning staff and students, altering grade bands, and introducing exciting new programs made for a big year. To help us evaluate our work, we have surveyed staff, parents, and the public and will be using the results of this report to guide our decision-making in the future.
We are mindful of how last year’s changes will impact our students, so we have reinstated some programs and planned for upgrades in technology and textbooks to ensure our students are engaged in the classroom and prepared for the world outside of our classrooms.
This 2013-2014 school year will mark the inception of the STEM Elementary, a “School within a School” that will be housed at Pleasant Valley Elementary, and open to any Parma City School student entering Kindergarten through fourth grade. The learning environment will focus on developing essential communication, collaboration, and problem-solving skills in the areas of Science, Technology, Engineering and

The Community/Business/Schools (C/B/S) Partnership was created in the early 1990’s to enhance mutually beneficial personal relationships among communities, businesses, and schools. The group has developed into a powerful catalyst matching community resources with the needs of the district, the students, the
teachers and administrators and providing mutual benefit to the community and its businesses. C/B/S is considered a model program throughout Ohio and nationally.
As C/B/S partners, businesses, individuals, and groups set their own schedule of involvement and work directly with school personnel to tailor an activity best-suited to both the partner and the students. Over the years this has been done in a variety of ways by an ever-evolving group of members and volunteers.
To learn more and join the cause, contact co-facilitators Erin Gadd, Director of Public Relations, and Kristen Plageman, Director of Career and Technical Education at the Parma City Schools at 440-885-2307 or go to www.parmacityschools.org.

importantly, there is a push to increase our students’ access to technology as they prepare for new state testing mandates.
This year a new program is being offered for parents called “Parenting Partners.” This 8- week evening program is designed to promote parent leadership skills. It will be held throughout the district starting in October and then again in February. The seminars will begin with the training of 100 parents with the expectation that involvement will grow. For 50 years, Cuyahoga Community College (Tri-C®) has provided quality, affordable education to more than 900,000 Cuyahoga County residents.
The first and largest community college in Ohio, Tri-C enrolls 61,000 students and offers a variety of college courses and community programs appealing to students from ages 15 to 75 or older. Students can earn associate degrees or transfer credits to four-year colleges. More than 85 percent of Tri-C students continue to live and work in Northeast Ohio after graduation.
Tri-C’s tuition is the lowest in Northeast Ohio. Students can take the same general education courses offered at most four-year colleges at a fraction of the cost. Also, more than 1,700 students are dually enrolled in high school and Tri-C, which means that a student can earn college credit toward an associate degree the same time he or she is earning a high school diploma.
Two locations serve Parma and Parma Heights, as well as the surrounding suburbs: Western Campus at 11000 Pleasant Valley Road in Parma and Brunswick University Center at 3605 Center Road in Brunswick.
At the Western Campus, more than 1,000 credit courses are offered in business and technical programs, creative arts, health care, liberal arts and sciences. At Brunswick University

Since its founding in 1854, the College has experienced significant growth. Currently, Bryant & Stratton College has 18 campuses in four states plus an Online division. Every student at Bryant & Stratton College receives highly- personalized instruction. The College keeps classes small so that each student is assured of getting all the personal attention he or she needs to succeed. And if any student should need further instruction, they will receive it through skills assistance, one-on-one tutoring, and other creative forms of support.
The goal of preparing their students for career success can also be
seen in the types of bachelor and associate degrees offered. The College continually evaluates the job market to determine which industries are hiring now and into the future. This feedback results in the development of programs geared toward those industries, including healthcare, business, technology, design and the legal field. Many Choices in Health Care
HOLY FAMILY
HOS PICE
There are over twenty hospices in our area, each having distinct features, offering individuals with many choices that address their unique needs. Some may be large or small, for profit or not-for-profit, faith-based, hospital-based, or facility-based. All of them provide a service that is part of the Medicare benefit. There are many choices. YOU have many choices. Before health becomes an issue, know in advance the health care providers you want to care for you. Let the people who love you know your wishes. This is especially important if a time arrives when you cannot express them for yourself. Put them in writing. Your wishes must always be honored should they differ from what is being offered. Call for your complimentary Advance Directives booklet and your personal MY CARD Choices and Medications card to carry with you at all times. This card lists your choices of health care providers at all levels and can help get you started in building a long-term health care plan.
Patients at Holy Family Hospice receive exceptional care wherever they live: in their own home, nursing home, assisted living community or at Holy Family Home residential hospice.

In 1968 the founder, Vince Hrobat, along with his wife, Gwen, set up office in their home and began providing individuals with their insurance needs. As the agency grew their son Tim joined them and together they developed partnerships with
several of the country’s largest insurance providers and began offering a wide range of coverages for your personal and business needs. In 1996, they moved the office to 7252 Broadview Road in Parma where you can find them today. Ohio Benefits & Insurance Group, their benefits division, opened in 1999 in Fairlawn, Ohio, specializing in health insurance for individuals and businesses.
Tim proudly took the reigns as President in 2008. His leadership continues the agency’s original goals and focus of “providing the utmost in service and resources to the surrounding communities for any and all types of insurance and to continue the commitment to provide the very best service to the people and companies we serve and have served for the past 45 years.”
At Vince Hrobat Insurance Agency they do more than just sell you an insurance policy. They build long lasting relationships which
helps guarantee their ability to offer you the most comprehensive services at the most competitive prices. Unlike many other insurance agencies which provide coverages from one resource, the Vince Hrobat Insurance Agency has the ability to offer the services of several highly-regarded insurance companies. “We don’t work for an insurance company…WE WORK FOR YOU!”
The professional staff at Vince Hrobat Insurance Agency is well-educated and work continuously to stay informed about new legislation and industry trends. So whether you’re looking for homeowners, automobile, business, health or life insurance…you can call on them!

Jerry Kuhn’s Kwik Car Wash is one of the oldest car washes in the United States. Their conveyor tunnel is the longest in Ohio at 220 feet. Although these are interesting facts and sources of great pride for Jeff Kuhn, Jerry’s son and the own-
er of the car wash, he knows that what’s really important to you as his customer is how well they clean your vehicle, how quickly they provide this service, how respectfully and professionally they treat you when you visit, and what kind of value they provide for your money.
“My dad, Jerry Kuhn, started this business in 1953,” explains Jeff. “Now my son-in-law, Joe and my daughter, Jeana, have taken over, and they want to show off the early days of the business.” They’ve refreshed the lobby, reminiscent of the 1950’s, giving customers a feel for the business’s history and have made many other visible improvements.
“We still offer full service – inside and out,” Kuhn says. “But we also offer express detailing. While they wait, customers can opt to add services such as detailed interior cleaning, leather clean and re-conditioning, carpet shampoo, and hand wax. And that’s all at about $30 per service. It’s auto detailing for people who didn’t think they
had the time and money for it,” Kuhn adds. And their Unlimited Wash Plan, starting at $19.95/month, is the smart and convenient way to ensure your car always looks its best – especially during messy winter months.
They also offer a com-munity fundraising pro-gram for schools and other non-profit organi-zations to earn money.
Kuhn says, “having the business located in such a great community with loyal customers is what has kept us going.” Your

The Community/Business/Schools Partnership was created in the early 1990’s by a core group of community leaders and PACC members who understood the importance of collaboration in student success. Considered a model
program throughout Ohio and recognized across the nation, its purpose is simple. The group matches the needs within the Parma City Schools to the resources available in the communities we serve.
But while the purpose is simple, their work is complex. It takes big hearts and commitment to make the partnership work, and many of its founders remain active to this day. And here’s how they do it: over the course of the school year, businesses, community members, parents, teachers, and support staff coordinate numerous “ice cream social” student recognition ceremonies, classroom and program donations, mentoring and internship opportunities, expert lecture opportunities, mock interviews, resume writing advice, monetary donations, and countless volunteer hours. And these are just the activities that the membership is able to record each month. For there are many, many generous acts quietly blooming in our classrooms every day.
The group has even begun its own LinkedIn Group to help facilitate their work. Their purpose is to make it even easier for our schools and communities to connect through an online forum. In addition, their intent is for graduates and alumni to use this online forum to take advantage of local employment and networking opportunities to ensure student excellence continues to benefit this region. To learn more about the Partnership, and to join the cause, contact co-facilitators Erin Gadd and Kristen Plageman at the Parma City Schools.

The Axelrod family has been serving the west side of Cleveland for over 34 years. They purchased a Pontiac dealership in 1979 at Brookpark and Pearl. In 2008, they added a GMC truck franchise and then purchased
a Buick franchise in 2010. Also in 2008, they expanded their collision business acquiring a large building at 4850 Brookpark Road. Because they believed in the City of Parma, its citizens and the local businesses, they decided to make a major investment in their business which is currently under construction, building a new Buick GMC facility at their existing location. This will be a 35,000 square foot building and when completed in November 2013, will be a state-of-the-art facility that the community can be proud of.
“We pride ourselves in offering a great selection of vehicles, competitively priced, in a friendly atmosphere of ‘Treating Customers like Family Since 1979’,” states co-owners Barry and Phil Axelrod.

Dr. McCluskey Celebrates 21 Yearst’s hard to believe that it’s been 21 years since my staff and I started Timber Ridge Neck and Back Pain Clinic. My, how time flies! We have run our clinic based on one very key principle that we’ve never strayed from.
Simply put... TAKE CARE OF OUR PATIENTS because these are the people who will take care of us. And, oh, how you’ve taken care of us! I truly believe that’s why we have survived while so many other clinics have closed throughout the years. We consider you a part of our Timber Ridge Family. Therefore, in this 21st year anniversary season... we want to give THANKS to our patients who have always been there for us. So as a token of our appreciation we want to give you a ‘special’ gift just for coming by. When you come into the clinic during these anniversary days in 2013, pick up your... Free Gift! It’s our way to say “thank you” for your support over all these years.
P.S. Ooops... I almost forgot. If you have never seen me and would like to become a new patient, simply give us a call at 440-884-0083 and we will give you your first day free. This is normally a $200+ value, but if you present a copy of this article to the receptionist before treatment, it’s yours free. *Some restrictions may apply to

What started more than 50 years ago as a credit union to help Parma schoolteachers get lower auto loan rates, is now a thriving not-for-profit bank that offers Cuyahoga and Medina County residents
financial services and more.
PSE Credit Union, conveniently located on Regency Drive in Parma across from the Parma Justice Center, “offers all the same services as a bank but with lower loan rates, higher savings interest rates and lower fees,” says CEO Janice Thomas.
This family-oriented institution now includes over 23,000 members throughout Cuyahoga and Medina Counties and makes educating kids about finances a core part of its mission.
“As part of our committment to kids, we take our mascot, Pennie the PSE Puppy, into schools and teach kids as young as kindergartners to save money through our Pennie Club,” says Thomas.

The purpose behind Parma Community General Hospital remains as strong today as it did when the hospital opened in 1961 – taking care of the community. What’s different is the changing needs of the hospital’s six founding communities and beyond that has led to the growth of outpatient centers and services, as well as new technology like a 3DHD operating suite.
With a medical staff of more than 500 members in over 30 specialties, Parma Hospital now serves more than 350,000 people in southern Cuyahoga and northern Medina counties. It’s the quality of that care and the compassion with which it is delivered that doctors and staff are most proud – and patients count on and trust.
More personalized access to careProviding physical therapy services in the new locations
like the Seven Hills Community Recreation Center and adding convenient, one-stop service for patients seeking Lab, Radiology and Preadmission Testing through our Outpatient Center on the hospital campus are just a few of the ways we are making our care more efficient and convenient for patients.
Many of the youth of the community were born in Parma Hospital’s Small Wonders Maternity Center, which boasts
the latest fetal monitors and computerized monitoring, as well as onsite neonatal coverage provided, when necessary, by University Hospitals Rainbow Babies & Children's Hospital. And for those who want to plan a more holistic birth experience, Parma Hospital is pleased to be the first hospital in the area to offer waterbirths.

Also, in its 2013 rankings, HealthGrades ranked Parma Hospital the best hospital in Cuyahoga County for both cardiology and coronary interventions. For several consecutive years, the nation’s leading quality rankings organization has given Five-Star ratings to Parma Hospital for excellence. Collaboration with local EMS, which works closely with the Hospital’s Emergency Department and Cardiac Catheterization Lab to transmit EKGs from the field to the hospital, expedites care for cardiac patients and ensuring that the staff is ready upon arrival. Patients with any emergent need who walk into the Emergency Department can take comfort in knowing there is a Doc at the Door, an assessment by a physician-led team within 30 minutes of arrival.

I believe in getting more out of life.
My time is precious. Every moment counts. That’s why I chose Kaiser Permanente. My doctor is close to home, so when I go for a checkup, I can visit the lab and pharmacy, too—
all in one trip.
Back home, I can go online and e-mail my doctor, check most lab test results, schedule routine appointments, order most prescription refills, and more.*
I can even access these tools on my smartphone.
It’s that easy. This way, I have more time to spend on what matters most—life.
For more information about Kaiser Permanente, visit us online at kp.org.
*These features are available when you receive care at Kaiser Permanente medical centers. Care from practitioners you see outside our medical centers or the results of tests and screenings performed outside our medical centers may not be available online.

The Parma Area Chamber of Commerce and the Council of Smaller Enterprises (CoSE) have an alliance that benefits area businesses. Through a special joint membership agreement, businesses in Parma, Parma Heights and Seven Hills can now join both organizations and save $150 or more on what it would have cost to join each of them separately.
As a result of this unique partnership, area businesses get valuable exposure and resources in their local communities, while also getting the regional reach and buying power of COSE and its 15,000+ members. Plus, they also get a bigger voice and a stronger advocate in City Hall, Columbus and Washington D.C.
We are in the third year of our partnership with COSE. This partnership has added to our resources and has increased our effectiveness in delivering value and resources to our membership. We have continued to partner and build our relationships within our community but now COSE brings more ways for members to connect, save and learn, and it gives us a much needed voice on important state and federal advocacy issues.
This alliance is in addition to our efforts to work with other chambers in our region to offer additional networking and learning opportunities for our members. The Parma Area Chamber of Commerce also offers numerous benefits through membership in the Northern Ohio Area Chambers of Commerce (NOACC). Businesses can receive discounts from many different types of providers such as health insurance, workers compensation, utilities, and logistics.
We will continue to sharpen our focus on advocating for appropriate public policies, encouraging entrepreneurship, serving small businesses and building regional partnerships. Our focus is on strengthening our partnerships with local governments, chambers and other organizations that can help us to continue to increase the value we deliver to our members.
