Area 4th of July Celebrations
Tri-County Publishing, Inc. recently pur-
chased the electronic printing files of Office
Products in Martin. We purchased the digital
files and the exclusive rights to use those elec-
tronic files. No other printing company may
use those electronic files. Any other company
would quite possibly have to recompose the
form from “scratch.” That’s both time and
money for the customer.
We invite former Office Products custom-
ers to check with us concerning their printing
needs. All we need is the form number from
the bottom of the printed form and we can ac-
cess all in the information about the previous
press run. That number starts with an “OP”.
Tri-County Publishing also offers thousands
of advertising specialties from ink pens to im-
printed outerwear.

A Carroll County Farmers’ Co-Op truck hauling grain veered of f the right side of the road on Friday, July 5, 2013 while traveling southbound on Veterans Drive N/Highway 70A to avoid a collision with a car pulling into the lane from the stop sign at the intersection of SR77 and Hwy. 70A. The grain truck came to rest on its side in a ditch after taking evasive action to avoid hitting the vehicle. The driver of the car stated that he did not see the truck coming. The driver of the truck was taken by ambulance to the Baptist Memorial Hospital for related minor injuries.

MCLEMORESVILLE (July 4) The children of McLemoresville and the surrounding area make July 4 very special in this small city.
Each 4th, the children bring their decorated tricycles, wagons, four-wheelers, and battery-pow-ered rides to participate in the short, but very colorful parade.
Mayor Phil Williams always leads the parade and Angie Mar-tin registers all the participants.
With the assistance of parents, grandparents, and friends, the parade takes on a child-like fla-vor and slowly progresses along Highway 70/77 from the Baptist Church to the downtown fire station. Carroll County Sher-iff ’s Department, and area fire departments assure the children are safe as they continue the traditional parade. There are a few adults in the parade, but none attempt to compete with the imagination of the children and their resourceful parents.

McLemoresville Continues The Tradition of the Fourth
The long tradition continues in McKenzie with great mu-sic, an homemade ice cream contest, a carnival-like atmo-sphere, and fireworks.
The beautiful weather, cou-pled with a tradition of excel-lent fireworks, brought out a capacity crowd to the McKenzie City Park, where spectators enjoyed top ranked musical art-ists, fellowship, and the finale, fireworks.
At dusk, the streets, high-ways, and subdivisions filled as the cool evening and clear skies were perfect for fireworks. The park, Highway 22, and Univer-sity Drive were lined with cars filled with people in anticipa-tion of the aerial show. And they were not disappointed as the sparkle of the fireworks filled the air and the oohs and aahs eminated from the mouths of children and adults.
Here are the names of the winners of the parade.

Parades, Fireworks, and Music Topped McKenzie
The beaches and parking spaces were all filled as everyone enjoyed the recently opened Carroll County 1000-Acre Rec-reation Lake, located three miles from Huntingdon on U.S. 70.
The two sand-filled beaches were well utilized all day as children and adults enjoyed the water and pristine landscapes.
The Island, a floating café complete with rental boats, and floating inflatables for children as well received as by adults and children. Some adults were taking advantage of the inflatable that allows one or more persons to jump from a platform,
land on an inflatable, and catapult another person, located at the opposite end, into the air.
Parking spaces were quickly filled, leav-ing many attendees to walk from their cars along Baker Road and Boyd’s Land-ing Road.
At 6:00 p.m., Revibe Band performed, playing music until approximately 9:00 p.m., what which fireworks were launched from the dam.
The tremendous day of sun, mild tem-peratures, and music culminated with a mediocre fireworks show.
