Confirmation Retreat— A Spirit Filled Day Last weekend, our 10th grade Confirmation Candidates enjoyed a day of prayer, community building, reflection and fun on their Confirmation Retreat at Glastonbury Abbey. Fifth Sunday of Lent

What’s Happening at OLOS

Returning CRS Rice Bowl Donations As our Lenten season of prayer, fasting and almsgiving draws to a close, the time to return Rice Bowls is approaching. Please bring your Rice Bowls to any Mass on Palm Sunday weekend (April 8-9). We will have baskets in the church for collection. You may offer a cash donation, write a check to OLOS with “Catholic Relief Services” written on the memo line, or bring your bills and change in the Rice Bowl itself. We will notify parishioners of our total once all proceeds have been counted. In advance, we thank you for your generosity and hope you have found this act of solidarity to be enriching and fulfilling. More Catholic Relief Services initiatives are in the planning stages. If you would like to learn more or get involved, please contact Teresa Coda at 781-784-2265 or [email protected]

Cradles to Crayons, Sunday, April 9, 8:45 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. Cradles to Crayons is an organization that provides, free of charge, the basic essentials needed to be safe, warm, ready to learn, and valued to low-income and homeless children from birth to pre-teen. When we visit Cradles to Crayons we will sort through new and used items for children in need and de-cide if those items are good enough to be given away. We may also clean and package items as well. Children as young as five are welcome to participate in this opportunity, though a parent must join in on the trip unless the student is middle school age or older. Additionally, all participants are asked to clean out their closets, bookshelves and toy bins before attending and bring gently used dona-tions to contribute to Cradles to Crayons' mission. To sign up for this service opportunity, visit OLOS’s service page on the parish website and click on the link “Sign Up to Serve.”

From Senior Deacon Mike:

Our Lenten journey is approaching its conclusion and the anticipation of Easter. The readings for the fifth Sunday in Lent raise our image of life af-ter death. In the Reading from Ezekiel, the Lord speaks about opening the graves. .

Thus says the Lord GOD: O my people, I will open your graves

and have you rise from them, and bring you back to the land of Israel.

Then you shall know that I am the LORD, when I open your graves and have you rise from them,

O my people!
