Super Raffle 2020 – WOW, what a great effort on the part of Eileen Rega and her team of super salespeople, the Rectory Office with Carol, Sr. Kathleen, Trish, Maggie, Patti, Debbie and Fr. Brian doing his sales pitch from New Mexico. Of course, none of this would be possible without the generosity of our parishioners.

By the time of our drawing, we only had seven tickets left. Outstanding!

The Super Raffle winning numbers are as follows: First prize, $7000 - #045

    Second prize, $2000 - #116 Third prize, $1000 - #213

Congratulations to our Super Raffle winners!

Daily Raffle 2020 was worth $200 for each nightly drawing. The winning tickets are: Wednesday, Sept. 30th #36660 Thursday, Oct. 1st #03434 Friday, Oct. 2nd #42121 Saturday, Oct. 3rd #57632 Sunday, Oct. 4th #36546

We look forward to next year’s Daily and Super Raffle, and hope and pray they will be drawn during our Annual Italian Feast. Since we were only seven tickets shy of selling out our Super Raffle this year, let’s shoot for selling all our Super Raffle tickets next year. After all, let’s remember Fr. Brian’s mantra, “You’ve got to be in it to win it.” Thanks again for your tremendous support of our Parish.

    May God bless you!

Mission Appeal - October 24-25 The Servants of the Lord and the Virgin of Matará (www.servidoras.org or www.ssvmmissions.org ), a missionary Institute of religious sisters, are happy to be given the opportunity to speak at Our Lady of Lourdes for the mission appeal on October 24/25. From our beginnings in San Rafael, Argentina in 1988 we have grown to over 1200 sisters missioning in almost 40 different countries throughout the world. We strive to go where the presence of religious sisters is most needed. Although we are an international community, we have been blessed with many vocations from the United States, a bit over 100 at present. This appeal allows us to inform the members of your parish about our mission work in Papua, New Guinea. As you may imagine, our missions in places like Papua, New Guinea are in great need of support. The sisters work with children and poor families in human and religious development, specifically providing medical care and educating in hygiene. They also have a home for girls that currently houses and provides for all of the needs of about 25 girls. As you may know, Papua is not economically stable at present. For this reason missionaries do not re-ceive much help from the local people who very often, themselves, lack even basic necessities. Thank you, Msgr. McNamara, for giving us this opportunity to speak at Our Lady of Lourdes and share with you about our mission in Papua. As we daily strive to help those in need, we are most grateful to all of you for your prayers, contributions and generosity, truly a grace from God and a consolation for our missionary. Please be assured of our prayers for all of you, as well!

All Souls Mass of Remembrance We Remember - We Celebrate - We Believe During the past year at Our Lady of Lourdes, more than 100 Funeral Masses were celebrated for members of our Parish Family who have died. Their families will be invited to participate in a special Mass of Remembrance on Sunday, November 1 at 3:00pm. Let us remember in prayer this day all who have gone before us marked with the sign of faith, and for their families who mourn their passing - may they know of Christ's healing love.

The Sisters of St. Dominic of Amityville Host Virtual Gala Please join us on Friday, October 23rd for a special dining experience as guests can cook along with Monsignor Jamie Gigantiello, a professionally trained chef and host of NET TV's popular cooking show Breaking Bread, at this year's virtual Dominican Gala. Although we can't gather in person for cocktails and dinner, we can celebrate together remotely! We are proud to honor Suzanne Pugh, RN, Director of Emergency Services at New York-Presbyterian Queens and Sister Flor de Maria Buruca, OP, founder of an after-school program and summer camp in El Salvador. The Dominican Gala raises critical funds to support the ministries of the Sisters of St. Dominic. In response to the pandemic, a COVID-19 Emergency Ministry Support Fund (MSF) was created to raise funds for our frontline ministries allowing them to deliver emergency supplies to those in need, expand food pantries and meal programs, and provide other forms of direct assistance. With thousands out of work in our local area alone, soaring food insecurity and vulnerable people pushed further to the margins, we need your help to continue our outreach efforts now more than ever! With your support, the Sisters of St. Dominic of Amityville will continue to be a lifeline for those in need. For more information about tickets, silent auction, 50/50 raffle or sponsorship opportunities, please contact Susan Jappell at 631-842-6000, ext. 246 or visit: www.sistersofstdominic.org/2020gala.
