MEETINGS. Regular/monthly General Membership meetings are held every 1st Tuesday of the month at the Club Filipino in San Juan City. Meanwhile, Regular Board of Directors/Officers meetings are held every last Thursday of the month at a venue arranged by the hosting director/officer. CLUB BOARD AND COMMITTEES. Through the years of its operation, the Club has maintained 11 Board of Directors duly elected by the General Membership before the end of every Biennium. Up to now, the club officers are elected from among the Board of Directors to serve as President, Vice-President, Treasurer, Corresponding Secretary, and Recording Secretary. Other officers are duly appointed by the Board to serve as Chairpersons of the Mandatory Committees, Nomination Committees and the Club-initiated Projects Committees. Todate, 19 sets of Board of Trustees and Presidents have taken turns in steering the Club. MEMBERSHIP. The last decade witnessed the fluctuation of membership from a high of 40 to a low of about 30. Comparatively, our membership recruitment is stable. Our turn-outs are compensated by new and incoming members, who replaced those who left the club due to various reasons, such as death, health impediments or other competing personal and professional commitments. ADVOCACY UNDERTAKINGS. The advocacy thrusts of the club primarily focused on education, leadership development, information dissemination and networking that aimed at advancing the status of women and young girls and strengthening interaction and sisterhood. Towards these ends, the club has undertaken the following:

• Forging of a Twinning Sisterhood Agreement with Zonta Club of Brampton-Caledon (Ontario, Canada) on 14 July 1992.

• Active involvement in planning and preparatory works that resulted in the Signing of Proclamation No. 493, Declaring November 8 of Every Year as Zonta Day in the Philippines by Pres. Fidel V. Ramos on 27 October 1994.

• Establishment of the Z Club of San Juan National High School in 1990; Golden Z-Club of Jose Rizal University, Mandaluyong City in 2004, and Golden Z-Clubs of Our Lady of Guadalupe College, Mandaluyong City in 2004.

• Conduct of leadership, gender and development (GAD) trainings seminars and workshops and mentoring sessions on organizing among young girls, particularly the members of the Z- and Golden Z Clubs since 1990 to the present.

• Launch of the “Blow the Whistle” Project cum series of seminars and lectures on Violence Against Women and Children (VAWC) since 2012.

• Leadership and active participation of the Club in organizing and conducting the Area-led initiatives, activities and events which aimed at: raising awareness on women’s rights and gender and development issues; ensuring the visibility of Zonta to the public; forging joint efforts for women’s empowerment; and, collectively pushing the advocacy thrusts of Zonta. Such activities, included: Walk and Talk “Zonta Says No to Violence Against Women” Seminars with the participation of the Golden Z and Z Clubs.

CLUB INITIATIVES CUM SERVICE ACTIVITIES. These are projects and activities undertaken by the club in partnership with key stakeholders in response to community-driven objectives and Zonta International thrusts and goals using club resources, members’ contributions and external donations.

• Construction of the Zonta Pavilion at the National Center for Mental Health in Mandaluyong City, National Capital Region in 1974 under the presidency of Mrs. Elisa Abello, and continuing maintenance to the Center’s physical upkeep/repair and support to basic needs of the wards, as warranted.

• Organization and program implementation of the Sulo ng Zonta Mandaluyong-San Juan in 1980 to 1996. The program forged a partnership with Christian Children’s Fund (CCF) and assisted an aggregate of about 576 children from eight (8) barangays in San Juan, and one barangay each from Taytay and Antipolo. Through this program, a family in the United States, affiliated with the CCF, adopted a child and provided schooling until she finished her college studies.

• Development and implementation of the Zontaville Housing Project in 1986. The project was started in February 1987, a doubly auspicious event since it was the year designated by the United Nations as an International Year for Shelter for the Homeless. The Zontaville is a 2.3 hectares of land located at Bagong Nayon II, in Antipolo, which was negotiated with the National Housing Authority (NHA) and subdivided by the club into 300 lots. Houses were built for and awarded by the Club to the 299 relocatee-families being catered to by the Club’s Sulo ng Zonta Mandaluyong-San Juan Program, all of which were illegal settlers in the slum areas of San Juan. The awarding of Certificates of Land Titles and House Ownership to families which have fully paid the land and house package have started in 2000 and is almost done.

• Construction of the Zontaville Multi-Purpose Building which was inaugurated in November 1991. This served as venue for the service projects and activities being conducted by the Club with the Zontaville Housing beneficiaries. To date, the building remains for the use of the homeowners’ association for meetings and events.

• Putting up of the Herbal Garden and Plant Nursery in 1995, at the Zontaville Park, which served as a playground for the children. This area remains as an open space for use of the homeowners.

• Conduct of Trainings and Workshops on Micro-Entrepreneurship in partnership with the Zonta Foundation-Philippines, Inc. and the Technical Educational and Scientific Development Administration (TESDA) and Microfinance/Credit Support to grassroots women from 2000 to 2006. In 2010, the club undertook Microfinance trainings for women, in partnership with Tulay sa Pag-Unlad, Inc. (TSPI) to ensure their qualification in accessing the Zonta Microfinance Fund.

• Granting of Scholarship and Educational Assistance to qualified young students from indigent families of San Juan since 2000 to present. Contributions and donations from Zonta club’s members and sponsors/donors outside of Zonta have sustained the program. The scholarship for select and qualified elementary pupils and college students covers school allowances and schooling miscellaneous expenses as long as the scholars remain qualified up to graduation.

• Provision of Fund Assistance and conduct of calamity relief operation to victims of typhoons such as Pablo, Ondoy, and Yolanda, among others. The club members pool funds and resources to put up any form of assistance for calamity and relief operations.

• Continuing conduct of mentoring sessions, seminars and workshops on Violence Against Women and Children, Women’s Rights, and Women Leadership, especially for the Z- and Golden Z-Clubs, which are sustained by the Club.

SERVICE PROJECTS. Evidently, the Club has been in the forefront of service delivery towards the empowerment of women and in support of the less fortunate members of our immediate communities in Mandaluyong and San Juan. Potenciano Medical Center to avail of as much as 50% discount on medicines and medical and hospital services with free consultation.
