    Area Goals 2016 – 2018

    One vision, one mission, one voice, one movement, a season of weaving D.R.E.A.M.S Area 4 has adopted the Biennial Goals of 2016-2018 Direction • Every Zonta project/activity must be ZI mission focused

    • Promote/prepare for the ZI Centennial Anniversary in 2019 Resources

    • Continuous training for club officers and orientation for new members • Fund raising projects • Maintain and update club website and/or club web/FB page • Visit ZI website for Zonta information and updates

    Empowerment • Send club nominations for international scholarship grants (YWPA, JMK, Amelia Earhart & Emma L. Conlon Awards)

    Advocacy • Strengthen campaign on “Zonta Says NO to Violence Against Women”

    • Women’s Empowerment Principles (WEPs) lectures and forum • Engage men as partners for gender equality • VAWC seminars/lectures to high school students

    Membership • 3 Rs of memberhip Recruit – Clubs with members of 19 & below must increase

    membership to at least 20; clubs with more than 20 members shall target an increase of 3 new members

    Retain – Appreciate & value each member; recognize members and award loyalty pins; regular club fellowship & bonding activities

    Rejuvenate – Engage members in club activities/projects; motivate them to attend Area & District activities, District Conferences and ZI Conventions

    Service • Conduct educational programs to increase awareness on violence against women, anti-trafficking & unsafe migration of women and children, delaying teen pregnancy and early marriages, anti-bullying, HIV awareness

    • Network with local and national governments, NGOs and like-minded organizations

    • Organize/Mentor Z & Golden Z Clubs

PROJECTS/ ACTIVITIES Member Welfare Quarter and Turnover of Responsibilities STRATEGIC PLANNING : Output was a plan of action for the first half of the biennium from June 2016-May 2017 where all programs and projects shall have an advocacy aspect. Member recruitment shall be a year-round effort. 2 Members attended the ZI Convention in Nice France

PROJECTS/ACTIVITIES ‘Close Encounter with Teenage Girls’ – World Population Day: (with ZC Central Tuguegarao) Lectures on Teenage Pregnancy and Adolescent Health Sexuality; Facilitated Registration of Out of School Teenage Girls for Livelihood Training and Short Courses; Free Dermatological Consultations and free topical medicines for the Teenage Girls Tuguegarao City ‘Buntis Congress’: Talk on Common Skin Ailments during Pregnancy; dermatological consultations and free topical medicine – 250 women; blood letting drive for pregnant women- 159 bags collected Orientation of New Members Zonta Club of Ilocos Norte

    Continuing Project: 5 College Scholars at the Mariano Marcos State University Visit to the ZCIN OB Charity Ward at the GRASM Hospital with 35 mothers and their newborn babies; conducted post natal care and Health risks lecture for 6 teenage mothers; distributed maternity packs to 35 mothers

    Nutrition Month – “First 1000 Days’: Culinary Contest for Mothers of Day Care Centers (with the Laoag City Social Welfare Department) Visibility: Radio Interview at Bombo Radyo Laoag Attended the Installation Ceremonies of the Ilocos Norte Provincial Officials and the City of Laoag Zonta Club of Aparri
