LAST TIME OUTu The Sooners competed in the Journeymen/My House Northeast Duals on Nov. 11, posting a 1-2 record in the single-day event.

u OU opened the event with a dominant 53-0 win over Sacred Heart before dropping duals to No. 12 Rutgers (22-9) and No. 8 NC State (27-13).

u Senior Yoanse Mejias led his team, finishing with a perfect 3-0 record. He earned Big 12 Wrestler of the Week honors on Nov. 15, marking the second weekly conference honor of his career. SOONERS IN THE POLLSu Oklahoma enters the third weekend of competition ranked No. 20 in the USA Today/National Wrestling Coaches Association Division I Wrestling Coaches Poll, receiving 91 points. The Sooners are one of four Big 12 teams earning a spot in the coaches poll, joining Oklahoma State (No. 3), Northern Iowa (No. 13) and South Dakota State (No. 16).

u Seven of OU’s dual opponents this season (Oklahoma State, NC State, Lehigh, Rutgers, South Dakota State, Pittsburgh, Edinboro) are ranked in the coaches poll.

u OU is ranked No. 19 in the Intermat Dual Meet Poll. Yoanse Mejias (No. 13; 174 pounds), Davion Jeffries (No. 15; 149 pounds) and Mike Longo (No. 18; 141 pounds) all appear in Intermat’s individual rankings.

2016-17 HIGHLIGHTSu In his first season as head coach, Lou Rosselli led the 2016-17 Sooners to a 11-6 dual meet record, including finishing 5-2 in conference competition.

u OU placed second at the 2016-17 Big 12 Championship, paced by runner-up finishes from then-sophomore Davion Jeffries (149 pounds) and then-senior Matt Reed (174 pounds). Additionally, Mike Longo (141 pounds), Clark Glass (157 pounds), Brad Johnson (197 pounds) and Ross Larson (285 pounds) earned third while Christian Moody (125 pounds) took fourth to join Jeffries and Reed as the seven Sooners earning automatic qualifications to the NCAA Championships.

u Joined by at-large bid Yoanse Mejias (165 pounds), eight Sooners competed in the 2017 NCAA Championships. Oklahoma finished 32nd overall to conclude Rosselli’s first season as OU head coach.

u Led the 2016-17 Sooners to an 11-6 record, including wins over three ranked opponents, and a second-place finish at Big 12s.

u Spent 10 seasons as an assistant and associate head coach on the Ohio State staff that led the Buckeyes to a 2015 national championship and two NCAA runner-up finishes

u Has served as the U.S. Olympic Freestyle Team’s volunteer coach for both the 2016 Rio Olympic Games and the 2012 London Games

u Three-time U.S. Freestyle World Team coach

u Named the 2009 National Wrestling Coaches Association Assistant Coach of the Year and the 2014 USA Wrestling Freestyle Coach of the Year

u In 2015, Rosselli was named to the USA Wrestling coaching staff for the World Championships, and he has coached many other world and national teams for USA Wrestling.
