Corporate Promissory Note: The Corporate Promissory Note is available to students who work for companies that have tuition reimbursement plans . Proof of employment and a copy of the company’s reimbursement policy must be on file in the Business Office . The amount of the promissory note cannot exceed the amount the employer pays for tuition for each term . The due date for all promissory notes is 30 days following the conclusion of the term for which the note applies . A monthly late charge will be assessed after this date . By signing a promissory note, the student gives Lindenwood University permission to contact the employer if the note is not paid by the date due .

Payments can be made directly (electronically) from a student’s checking account . There is no set-up fee or interest charged for this method of payment . Any payment or financial aid received prior to the promissory note due date will be applied to the balance appearing on the student’s account .
Older Student and Institutional Grants– Lindenwood University offers a 50-percent scholarship to all persons age 55 and over . The University also offers partial institutional grants for employees of selected companies, municipalities, and school systems . These grants apply to the tuition for credit classes and do not apply to University fees or courses that are audited . Any other funding may first replace the Lindenwood University grant .
If payment arrangements have not been made, monthly late fees may be assessed.

Schedule Changes & Withdrawal ProceduresAny change in a student’s schedule of classes, including
adding a class, changing sections, or withdrawing from a class or classes must
1 . be made on the appropriate form available from the Lindenwood registrar’s office, local Lindenwood campus, or site;2 . give the supporting reason for the change or withdrawal;3 . be approved and signed by the student’s faculty advisor;4 . be returned to the Registrar’s Office before the deadlines specified in the academic calendars .
Students may add classes only during the first week of any term and only on a space-available basis . When adding a course, it will be necessary to obtain the instructor’s and advisor’s signatures . To withdraw from a course with a W, the student must obtain the advisor’s signature . When withdrawing from a course with a WP/WF, it is necessary to obtain both the advisor’s and instructor’s signatures; in addition, the instructor must note whether the student was passing or failing at the time of the withdrawal (WP/WF .) After obtaining the necessary signatures, withdrawal forms must be submitted to the Registrar’s Office . No withdrawals will be accepted after the specified “WP/WF” date . Exceptions to this policy for reasons beyond the student’s control may be made by the Provost after the appropriate signatures have been obtained . Students who withdraw without proper authorization receive a final grade of “F” or “AF,” which is treated as a grade of “F .” Consult the “Withdrawal and Refund Policy” section for refund schedule .
Students wishing to receive financial aid must notify the Financial Aid Office of their enrollment intentions every academic year . The Financial Aid Office must also be notified of any changes that may affect this plan (i .e ., enrollment change, tuition reimbursement, etc .) Students wishing to utilize Title IV Aid are required to be enrolled in at least six credit hours per term .
Graduation ApplicationsOfficial dates of graduation are March 30, June 30,
August 30, September 30, and December 30 . If a student expects to complete degree requirements by the end of this term, he/she must complete an application for graduation by the deadline listed in the schedule and/or catalog . Applications are available in the Registrar’s Office .
Applications received after the deadline may be held until the following graduation date.

Attention Graduate Students: It is important that all graduate students understand the steps by which to withdraw from a class . Students may drop classes up to the 2/3 point of a term . The current catalog may be used to determine the specific dates . If a student believes that he/she has experienced extraordinary circumstances that require him/her to drop a class after the stated deadline, the following steps must be completed: 1) Write a letter fully specifying the reasons for the drop .2) Gather supporting documentation (physical report, court documents, etc .) .3) Meet with the academic advisor for a signature on a policy exemption form .4) Meet with the dean of the school for a signature on the exemption form .5) Submit the signed form to the Vice President for Academic Affairs .
If approved, the student will receive either a Withdraw Pass (WP) or a Withdraw Fail (WF), depending upon the grade at the time the student withdrew . If the student determines, after the term has ended, that a withdrawal from a class would have been the best option, he/she may request that the grade assigned be changed to a WP/WF by using the procedure defined above . It is also important to recognize that if a student retakes a course (rather than withdraws) at the graduate level, the second grade does NOT replace the first grade; rather, the two grades are averaged . For instance, if a student earns an “F” for a class and then retakes the class, earning an “A”, the two grades as a set will now be the equivalent of two “Cs” and will affect the overall grade-point average as two “Cs” would . Only extraordinary, documented reasons for withdrawing after the stated deadline will be honored . Requesting a late drop due to a low grade in the class, lack of interest in the subject matter, a different learning style from that of the classroom professor, or a change of major/requirements are not reasons that will be honored .
