March Honduras Team Prayers On March 11, a group of 17 volunteers from Southwood will be traveling to Honduras to visit our sister church. Stop by Southwood Central to pick up a “Prayer Card” for the team. Knowing that people are praying for the volunteers strengthens and encourages them. Middle School Mission Trip is summer our middle school students will head to Minneapolis, Minnesota for a four-day mission trip in June. We’ll stay at Chi Rho, an ELCA camp where we will spend our afternoons hiking and canoeing on Lake Sylvia. Each day we will wake up early for breakfast with student-led devotions followed by a full day of serving. We will work with the Minnesota Department of Natural Resources on a conservation project and at Second Harvest, a new satellite food distribution site in downtown Minneapolis. We hope these projects will equip students to see their faith in action by doing God’s work in the world. is year’s devotional will be centered on the book of Jonah. Each morning and evening we will set aside time and look at different stories from this prophet. is will be a time to let students lead us in study and give them the opportunity to reflect on where they saw God at work that day. Acts of ServiceLove inspires us to joyfully do things we would not normally choose... like folding laundry or dusting the house! Make a point to do chores joyfully this week as an act of love towards those with whom you live.

f For your spouse—Even something as simple as making the bed before your spouse can get to it might be a significant gesture to someone whose language is acts of service.

f For anyone—Use your special skills to bless someone in your life. Do a little yardwork, or make a home-cooked meal! Whatever it is, they will feel so loved.

f For a friend—Offer a helping hand on a project they’ve been talking about doing. It shows you are attentive and caring.
