last hole to also earn the days Choker Award and obviatingthe need for the Team 5 threesome to select a draw partner.

TYBER AND REESE SHARE LOWGROSS! CORRIGAN RETURNS TOFORM!Single digiters Andy Tyber and Brad Reese shared Low

Gross honors with a score of38, edging out Richard Batelaanwhose bogey in the darkness on # 18 put him one stroke backof the co winners. Frank Corrigan, whose play two weeks priorwas good enough to win the Low Net purse(which for him wasa LifetimeAchievement Award) returned to his twenty fourhandicapper form by posting the days high score of 57unchallenged by a Sellner-less field.

DANZIG DOES IT AGAIN!Rookie David Danzig, still carrying a 27 handicap (which isplummeting as this is being written) followed his 42 on the frontnine last week with an identical score on the arduoussecond nine, easily winning Low Net again with a net scoreof 6 under.Danzig parred six of the nine holes on his way toyet another career round and another pocketful of moneywhile dodging the raised eyebrows of the other players. TheCommissioner congratulated the seemingly embarrassedDanzig for his fine play but informed the youngster that underhastily redrawn ATAG Bylaws, he will have a new ATAGHandicap going forward as it has become apparent that he isno longer the golfer he once was. Danzig agreed, relieved thathis game had taken a positive turnaround from where it hadbeen all summer when he rightfully earned the 27 handicapstatus.

GOODING AND CORRIGAN HAVESHOTS OF THE DAY!Doug Gooding and Frank Corrigan earned co-honors forShot OfThe Day.Goodings 180 yard approach shot on#13 hit the pin, enabling him to make the birdie-net eagle-putt while Corrigans approach shot of the same length onthe double popping hole #16 landed within 4 feet of thehole. (dont ask if he made the putt) Receiving honorablemention was Dick Peases 65 yard approachshot on # 14that landed within twelve inches of the hole for a tap inbirdie-net eagle.

SIX TWEETERS!The back nine yielded more birdies than usual as six birdieswere added to the Birdie Club total with Kevin McGlynn andDick Pease putting their name on the roster for the first time.Adding to their personal cumulative totals were Andy Tyber,Richard Batelaan, Richard Gilmore, and Doug Gooding.

several players had to leave shortly after the match ended.Surprisingly, the unidentified woman from the prior

week was again on the Mens Grill porch, apparently ready toconfront Scotty Greene who bolted as soon as he saw her. Themystery woman intruder left just as the last group finished.

Last years regular attendee Dick Pease made only hissecond appearance of the 2006 season, admitting that he hadsomehow let work take priority over the pursuit of happiness.

Andy Tyber is sporting a sleek new lookopting to shaveoff whatever remnants of hair he had remaining to make himlook even more intimidating to his match play opponents andmaking him eligible for the casting call for villainous roles in daytime soap operas.

Kevin McGlynn and Richard Gilmore had their seasonbest scores of43 and 41 respectively (Gilmore was shockedthat his net 4 under didnt win it), and Tom Player was onlyone shot more than his season best, finishing with a 43.

For the second week in a row, the beverage cart was out onthe course and several players showed their gratitude bypurchasing one or more swing oil beverages.

Thats it for this week. See you next week when it is back to thefront nine. Because of the shorter daylight, the first tee time willbe between 4:00 pm and4:15 pm, depending on the size ofthe group. Look for the Call For Players on Monday. It may bethat we will have to assign tee times to those who can make theearlier times. To speed up play, the Commissioner hasrequested all players to play hit when ready even if itmeans hitting simultaneously with one or more playingpartners.

THERE ARE ONLY 2 MORE MATCHES IN THE 2006

SEASON. However, the general consensus is that players favor an 18 hole finale, tentatively scheduled sometime during the week after the lastmatch and after daylight savings time has ended. Players willbe polled by e-mail as to their preference and the majority willrule.
