St Vinnie’s Sleepout Our recent St. Vinnie’s Sleepout was a wonderful event. It was a thought provoking evening for the 40 students and 10 staff who participated. It was a night of awareness raising and solidarity as we listened to personal stories of homelessness; we packaged items for those in need and we prayed together. An enormous thank you to Ms Josie Dilettoso and the Justice and Peace Captains for all their organisation and facilitation of the event. Well done!
Marie Louise Hartzer As we look ahead, we will remember and celebrate the life of Marie Louise Hartzer next Wednesday, August 27. She was born on this day in 1837. It is always timely to remind ourselves that OLSH College would never have been if it weren’t for Marie Louise’s life and her ‘Yes’ in all things. Like Mary, Our Lady of the Sacred Heart, Marie Louise Hartzer also continues to be a woman of great inspiration for us. Having been a wife, mother and widowed far too young, Marie Louise knew the struggles of life. She also knew the beauty of living a life attuned to the gentle drawings of God’s spirit. It was this that enabled her to become the first Daughter of Our Lady of the Sacred Heart.
Loving God, give us the courage and strength to follow where you lead us.
Just as Marie Louise Hartzer lived life to the full, inspire us to do the same.
May we always strive to be on earth the heart of God. Amen.
Our Lady of the Sacred Heart, pray for us.
Blessings and peace on you and yours, Sr. Megan Donohue fdnsc
Faith & Mission
We remember
We pray for the repose of the souls of:
John O’Loughlin, father of Principal Anne O’Loughlin
and
Maria Cirone, grandmother of Stephanie Chris Year 11
May Our Lady of the Sacred Heart hold them gently in her care and may their souls rest in peace.
Our Lady of the Sacred Heart, pray for us

Fare Evasion - New ‘on the spot’ Penalty Fares The College recently received information regarding on the spot penalty fares for those catching public transport without paying. Freeloaders are costing the network $60 million each year. From Sunday 10 August passengers without a valid myki may be given the option of paying an ‘on‐the‐spot’ penalty fare of $75. For more information, visit ptv.vic.gov.au/penaltyfares and watch a video outlining the changes. It’s important that all parents inform their daughters of the need to travel with a valid myki card.
