continue on the long route while I took a group on tighter time schedules straight back to the shop. The group I took got to experience a little road side training with myself, which I will start giving away little tips of the week on improving riding style every week that we go…just another great thing to look forward to..knowledge is power!! Look forward to the next ride and hopefully the next Sunday Ride will take us to the Smith Mountain Lake Tour with Alan…keep posted by connecting on my Facebook page for updates via the link below.

Nate's Bike Review: 2013 Ural Gear-Up Now I know I said I was going to do a review on the 2013 BMW F800GT but I haven’t had enough saddle time to see how easy I could tap the foot peg feeler on the ground for one of my customers as promised yet, need more time on a Sunday Ride or solo ride up the mountains, but I have spent a lot of time on the Ural lately and would love to share the experience. This review won’t be a super long report as there isn’t much to the machine, at least spec wise, she is as basic as it comes which is half of the appeal of this machine. The 750cc engine puts out enough horsepower to be sufficient on the street but isn’t interstate worthy right out of the box, you might say “that stinks”, but then again, that’s half of the appeal of this machine in most individuals eyes who are seeking a Ural, a machine that forces you to bypass the hustle bustle of point A to point B on the interstate and allows you to enjoy the more scenic route to your destination. Which is where you encounter the people, places, and things that really add substance to your adventurous ride in a Ural machine. I am doing a review of the Gear-Up which is my personal favorite model, and my wife’s favorite in Gobi Desert, but the machines are all based off the same platform and power plant despite a few accessories, trim, color

options, and two different suspension packages . The Gear-Up has all the spunk of a full on military vehicle from is Forest Fog paint scheme, Forest Camo paint scheme and the Gobi Desert Camo paint scheme. The Gear-Up is fully trimmed with the 2WD option, blacked out suspension and wheels, spot light, E-tool, fuel can, tonneau cover for the sidecar, spare wheel, spare wheel rack, front safety bumper, tire pump,

expansive tool kit, and map pocket on fuel tank. With the large capacity fuel tank, 5 gal., and dual carburetion feeding the air cooled opposing twin gives you a large range to take you to places you

have never been before, and in conditions you have never been in before on a typical two wheeled motorcycle. You can plug your heated suit in with no problems as the Ural features a 770W generator allowing you to ride deeper in the riding season and pull you machine out earlier in the season, if you ever put it up to begin with, she is fully capable in the rain, snow, or even fording creeks in the back roads of the beautiful Blue Ridge Mountains and beyond. The motorcycle does operate completely different than any standard motorcycle and I recommend hooking up with Mark McFaddin, MSF sidecar instructor, to get instruction on how to properly operate this head turning machine. She isn’t the fastest, 65 mph top speed, she isn’t the most beautiful, unless you choose the spicier colors of the Blue or Orange Patrol, but she is designed to run through the roughest of conditions on road or off road. There are lots of customizations available for the Ural line to make this bike fit your character and we encourage that which is part of the freedom of motorcycling. Riding in a Ural not only improves your ride quality as a pilot but also improves the quality of ride for the passenger who now has the same perspective you do as a pilot, and the communication is different between passenger and pilot as you can actually communicate while making eye contact which is near impossible on any two up motorcycle situation out there today. The biggest complaint that I have had from our many happy Ural customers is that they now have to leave the house 15 minutes earlier everywhere they want to go because there is always a crowd of individuals who are stopping you to ask what it is and where you got it, so prepare yourself to stand out and set yourself apart whether you are seeking adventure down the dirt roads you have always wanted to explore or are just out for a joy ride with our pup. Feel free to contact Chip who runs the Ural Riders of the Southeast Facebook site for his personal experiences and to become more involved in the Ural community!!! CornerSpin: The next CornerSpin in Oct is going to be huge as I have already almost filled the school with request of CornerSpin graduates from this year wanting to return for their second session with Aaron Stevenson and his fantastic crew. I will release a date very soon and look forward to having them tell you the story of their experiences at CornerSpin. NEXT CORNERSPIN IS IN OCT. SIGN UP NOW!!! Here is first time CornerSpinner, Rodney’s story: Had a great weekend. Learned a ton, and the way the track was setup was exactly what you would see on the road. The instructors were AWESOME. If you listen to what they tell you and apply it, IT REALLY WORKS! I've only been riding since 2011. When I went to Cornerspin this weekend I pushed the bike further than I would have ever thought possible. Now, I can also safely push my cruiser to it's limits, using the techniques Cornerspin taught me.

It doesn't matter how long you've been riding; If you are serious rider and interested in sharpening your skills, Cornerspin is well worth the money.

I have a new respect for Motocross riders. I now know what they go through and feel their pain.

We had a great group this weekend. We all pushed our bikes, and helped each other when needed. Considering the age span of this group, I now know that age makes no difference on the bike.

I can't wait to return to Cornerspin and learn and apply more.

Thank you to Nate Jennings for introducing me to Cornerspin. Thank you very much to all the people at Cornerspin.

Sincerely

Rodney E. Palmer

Track Days: VIR SOUTH MAY 13TH, 2013 – CORNERSPEED – NATE KERN REPORT Small groups, long session, lots of smiles and great company. What a track day!!! This was our very first Frontline Eurosports track day, which was held at VIR south course and was a blast with fun to be had by everyone. The instruction was spectacular as we had small groups and great pilots working with our first time track day participants. There were a lot of people in the Roanoke Valley and surrounding areas that took advantage of this opportunity to score their first time on the track and getting their money’s worth out of their machines they have purchased from Frontline Eurosports. For the most part we all arrived on Saturday to have a family get together on the Kart Track and run an hour long session to

get our blood pumping for the upcoming track event the next morning. We enjoyed a splendid meal at the Lodge and got to meet and greet each other and rub elbows with our heroes like Nate Kern. After a filling dinner we took to the track, not on our motorcycles yet, but by foot, letting Nate Kern walk us around the track giving us pointers and helping us get a lay of the land and pick the best lines for tomorrows fun day/track day. As the anticipation grew we hooked up the projector and watch clips and analyzed pics from our last Frontline Race Team race at CMP to critique each other and give pointers to the newer track day participants. That turned to an all night laugh fest as Hugh suggested we watch a few funny You Tube clips to change the mood. Look forward to our next event as we fine tune our already well oiled track day operation with CornerSpeed. First time Frontline Eurosports customer and first time track day participant Travis Cox gave us his opinion on how smooth and efficient this track day was for him: It was the most fun and exciting day of my life. Aaron (the cornerspeed teacher) was extremely helpful and made me more confident when on the track. My lap times dropped dramatically after each classroom session. All of the instructors were kind and were there to help-- not just get paid. They helped me tremendously and talked to me after each session about how to improve. Nate the salesman and racer at front line, that sold me my hypermotard just a few weeks prior, walked up just in time to see it fall on the trailer. Lol. He immediately jumped in to help me pick it up and comforted my anger and embarrassment. He has been a huge factor in getting me on my first bike and getting me on the track. I met many good people that gave me great advice and tips throughout the day. The whole group of motorcyclists there were like a family. I felt like part of it as soon as I arrived. I will definitely go back to the track with cornerspeed and the front line crew. And if I ever feel the need to purchase another bike, they have my business. Travis Cox - Hypermotard 1100 Thanks again!!!
