NSE Nifty 52BSE Sensex 17569.53

MarketOutlook:

The NSE Nifty is expected to open in the positive region around

its Critical level of 5302.If the benchmark can hold this level,it may

creep towards the target at 5338.The market may consolidate for a while

around this level, and if we get some positive news from global

counterparts, then the upside movement can extend further towards themajor resistance at 5374.However if some negative surprises from SBIN

Q2 results followed by any negative sentiment from Eurozone, below

5302,the index can drift towards the first support at 5255.A fall below

this can take the NSE index towards the major support at 5232

Stocks on Wall Street showed high volatility and ended with

notable gain Tuesday on the latest news from debt ridden Italy and

Greece.

Global Economic Calender

U.S. Stocks went on high volatility and ended with notable gainTuesday on the latest news from debt ridden Italy and Greece. The Dow

jumped 0.8%, the Nasdaq and the S&P 500 surged 1.2%, each.

All of the major European markets ended on Tuesday in positive

territory. The German DAX Index rose by 0.6%, while the U.K.'s FTSE

100 Index and the French CAC 40 Index advanced by 1% and 1.3%,

respectively.

Despite the U.S. cut its energy outlook, Crude Oil price crossed

$97 per barrel in NYMEX on hopes that the Eurozone debt crisis is

coming to an end.

Stock markets across the Asian region turned in a mixed

performance in the early session. While, the Japanese Nikkei 225 Index

is trading by 1% higher,the Hong Kong's Hang Seng jumped by 1.4%.

However, the Chinese SSE and Singapore's STI is trading 0.7% and

0.2% lower.

Economy / SectorNewsSlowdown chill: Exports fall to 12-month low in October

Pharma industry gets away lightly

India's merchandise exports fell to a 12-month low of$19.9 billion in October. As a result, the trade deficit rose to afour-year-high of $19.6 billion in the month. The exportslowdown is mainly due to a demand contraction in traditionalmarkets such as the US and Europe. Electronics shipments toEuropean Union contracted by 18 per cent in October. Mostother export sectors too slowed in October including:engineering (averaging about $7.73 billion in the first sixmonths of this fiscal) growing just 2.6 per cent to $4.4 billionand petroleum products growing only at 9.4 per cent to $3.8billion.

The draft National Pharmaceuticals Pricing Policy(NPPP-2011) declares that all 348 essential medicines (as perthe new National List of Essential Medicines, NLEM 2011) willbe under price regulation. The shift in focus from market shareto whether medicines are essential is to be welcomed. However,the policy still leaves scope for non-essential and irrational

medicines to be made. It also has made calculating ceiling pricesof the many medicines not in NLEM a tedious, if not impossible,exercise.

In addition to the NLEM 2011, top selling 300medicines of the IMS could have been covered. The draft policydelinks the ceiling prices of formulations from the price of bulkmedicines. Indeed, the arguments given in the draft policy forremoving price control of bulk medicines do not make sense.The government should have kept the option of price control on bulk medicines in the event of cartelisation or abnormalincreases in price of bulk medicines.
