Selection of the area in the vicinity of Noragavit district as greenhouse construction site

was conditioned by availability of the Yerevan TPP's thermal resources and

appropriate lands, as well as convenience of the site to construct centralized infrastructures.

The availability of the centralized system of the main infrastructures will enable the

investors to avoid rather sophisticated, time and

energy, water and gas supply, as well as for water discharge.

construction of the main supply infrastructure for the greenhouse zone will allow the investors

to compensate the most part of the thermal energy generation cost.

TPP's thermal energy will promote the stability of the TPP's product consumption, on the one

hand, and the investors will benefit from more affordable supply, on the other. Consequently,

the product cost price will decrease; and the level of profitability and the product

competitiveness will increase. The aforementioned factors will positively influence on the price

of the investments’ payback period also.

• Vertical and horizontal screening system;

• Drip irrigation system;

• UV disinfection system;

• Condensation water harvesting

• Automat heating system;

• CO2 dosing system;

• High pressure fogging system;

• Ventilation system;

• Microclimate computer control system.

Tomato will be grown in hydroponic method under the control of central automatic

system.

The first crop is harvested in 2 months after planting the seedling. The productivity of the

tomato fluctuates between 1.5-10 kg/m2 depending on the season.

From agronomic and financial viewpoints, production of tomato is expedient to start in

September, because in this case due to seasonality factor the highest crop is got during the period

from January till May, when the price of tomato reaches its peak.

During the first year (2012) the crop is harvested only in November and December.
