1. Standard Test.

-Also called STANDARDIZED TEST is onefor which content has been selected and

checked empirically, for which norms havebeen established, for which uniformmethods of administration and scoring

have been developed, and which may bescored with a high degree of objectivity.

Standard or Standardized Test used for thefollowing:

a. Useful in psychological studies todetermine the personality characteristics ofpeople such as intelligence, aptitudes,

interests, achievement, mentalabnormalities, etc.

b. Useful for individual case studies

2. Non-Standard Test

- Usually prepared by teachers to measure

the achievements of their students orpupils in the subjects they are teaching formarking and promotion purposes.

Psychological test- A test that measures an individuals ability or

personality as developed by general

experience.Educational Test

- An achievement test which aims to measure a

persons knowledge, skill, ability,understanding,and other outcomes in subjects taught in school.

Types of Psychological Test

1. Intelligence Test This is a composite test madeof parts that have been found to correlate well with

some practical measure of intellectual ability, suchas success in school.

Usually this is called an I.Q. test and it measures

general mental ability

2. Aptitude Test

A test designed to indicate a persons potential

ability or performance of a certain type of activity.

- This test measures special talent or ability

Ex.

Musical aptitude test, prognostic test, scholasticaptitude test, and mechanical aptitude test.

3. Personality test

- A test designed to measure some aspect of an

individuals personality.

(3.1) Rating Scale. A measure used in evaluatingproducts, attitudes, or other characteristics ofinstructors or learners. The usual form is anevaluation chart carrying some suggestive pointsfor checking.

(3.2) Personality Inventory. A Measure used fordetermining an individuals personal characteristics

such as emotional adjustment or tendencies towardintroversion or extroversion; may be arranged forself-rating or for rating by other persons.

This test also measures DOMINANCE andSUBMISSIVENESS.

(3.3) Projective Test.A method of measurement of

an individuals personality in which the stimulus isusually unstructured and procedures responsesreflecting the persons individually.

3. Vocational and Professional Interest

Inventory.

- A test used to determine the extent to which apersons likes and dislikes relate to a given vocationor profession.

- this test reveals in what types of work a person isinterested in, whether business, teaching, medicine,mechanic, etc.

b. It must correlate highly with a similar test ofalready known validity.

c. It must be able to predict performance ofindividuals in the same subject from which the

test has been made.

d. The test must be able to place an individual ina group to which he really belongs.

Validity- refers to how accurate a test

measures what it aims to measure.

a. ADEQUACY. The test is long enough to containproperly selected representative items of the

behavior or knowledge to be measured.

b. OBJECTIVITY. A test paper will give the samescore no matter who will score it, or scored by thesame person at different times.

c. The procedures in administering the test must bethe same whenever the test is given.
