•BAPTISMS / BAUTIZOS/ BATTESIMO Baptism are celebrated once a month on a Sunday after the 12:30 Mass in Spanish and 2:00pm in English. The dates for the Baptism of children and for the Pre-Baptismal instruction of parents should be arranged in the rectory ONE MONTH IN ADVANCE. In addition to English, and Spanish this Sacrament may also be in Italian.

•WEDDINGS/ MATRIMONIO Pre–marital instruction is a requirement for all engaged couples. Consequently, arrangements for weddings should be made SIX MONTHS in advance.

“Beloved: If you are patient when you suffer for doing what is good, this is a grace before God. For to this you have been called, because Christ also suffered for you, leaving you an example that you should follow in his footsteps. When he was insulted, he returned no insult, when he suffered he did not threaten, instead he handed himself over to the one who judges justly. He himself bore our sins in his

body on the cross, so that free from sin, we might live for righteousness” Risen Lord, to unite themselves to Jesus and His cross. We move a few weeks from Easter and can forget that the cross of Christ is the measure of the world. How do I react to adversity? Revenge, road rage, doing unto others before they do unto me… it is easy to avoid the admonition of Peter. To be sure I’m on the right path I look to the virtues found in the beatitudes - meekness, humility, desire for holiness, dependence upon God, and yes even the suffering I endure. Together with the virtues which Paul offered the Galatians, I become fully equipped to move forward. “Amados: Pero si a pesar de hacer el bien, ustedes soportan el sufrimiento, esto sí es una gracia delante de Dios. A esto han sido llamados, porque también Cristo padeció por ustedes, y les dejó un ejemplo a fin de que sigan sus huellas. Cuando era insultado, no devolvía el insulto, y mientras padecía no profería amenazas; al contrario, confiaba su causa al que juzga rectamente. El llevó sobre la cruz nuestros pecados, cargándolos en su cuerpo, a fin de que, muertos al pecado, vivamos para la justicia.” Señor Resucitado, que podamos unirnos a Jesús y Su cruz. Nos alejamos de la Pascua unas semanas y olvidamos que la cruz de Cristo es la medida del mundo. ¿Cómo reacciono yo a la adversidad? Venganza, ira, devolviéndoles a los demás lo que me han hecho… es fácil evadir el consejo de San Pedro. Para asegurarme de que voy en buen camino, debo buscar las virtudes que se encuentra en las bienaventuranzas: mansedumbre, humildad, deseo de santidad, dependencia de Dios, y aún el sufrimiento que padezco. Junto con las virtudes que San Pablo le ofreció a los gálatas, estoy bien equipado para seguir adelante.

Gesù si presenta come il Mediatore tra Dio e gli uomini. Egli è “la porta” dell’ovile. Non ci è dato di incontrare Dio in modo immediato. Non possiamo stabilire noi il modo in cui comunicare con lui. Dio si rivela e si dona a noi attraverso il Cristo che vive nella Chiesa. Raggiungiamo la comunione con lui mediante la strumentalità della Chiesa in cui è presente e opera Cristo. Gesù non è soltanto il Mediatore del

disvelarsi e dell’offrirsi di Dio a noi. È la realtà stessa del Verbo divino che ci raggiunge, ci illumina con la fede, ci trasforma con la grazia, ci guida con la sua parola, i suoi sacramenti e la sua autorità. Egli è la “porta” e il “Pastore” che “cammina innanzi” alle pecore. Gesù, come Buon Pastore, ci conosce per nome, ci ama e per noi offre la propria vita in una dilezione che si spinge sino alla fine. Noi credenti siamo chiamati ad “ascoltare la sua voce” e a “seguirlo” senza porre condizioni. Egli ci reca al “pascolo”. È la croce, dopo la quale, però, giunge la gioia senza limiti e senza fine: una gioia che ha le sue anticipazioni anche nell’esistenza terrena.

Next weekend we will have a volunteer sign up sheet for all of our parishioners,

who are willing to volunteer to help with the activities of the Festa. In order to have a successful Festa we need all the help we can receive. We ask

that you please consider helping your parish conduct this event for the community

of Mamaroneck.
