Transcript of Mantra Sponsorship

Mantra SponsorshipThroughout the world's religious traditions and spiritual movements, words and prayers play a special part in the ceremonies and rituals that invoke the blessings of powers unseen. The Tibetan tradition is no different. Capturing the holy essence of the Buddhas in verbal form, mantras invoke the power of Buddhas, requesting them to bless the practitioner with the conditions necessary for spiritual transformation and growth. Taking this one step further, Tibetans also insert printed mantras into Buddha statues. They believe that whenever someone prostrates to an image filled with holy items like mantras, they receive the blessings of everything they are prostrating to. Thus inserting mantras invests a statue with the power to bless a practitioner; in essence, it makes the statue more than just moulded metal and carved wood. The new Kechara House gompa (prayer hall) will be home to three magnificent statues never before seen in this size in South East Asia. The central image of the gompa's altar will be a 10-foot Lama Tsongkhapa statue, flanked by a seven-foot Vajrayogini statue on his right and a seven-foot Setrap statue on his left. Be a part of these statues by sponsoring mantras! Along with billions of holy images and items, these mantras will be inserted into the statues. Sponsors will receive the blessings of the deity every time someone prostrates to the statue, and everyday offerings are made.

Lama Tsongkhapa: Wisdom and Inner Peace As the main yidam (meditational deity) of Kechara House, and the founder of the Gelugpa lineage which Kechara House follows, Lama Tsongkhapa is renown for his wisdom energy, which is necessary for us to cut through the darkness of our ignorance. Vajrayogini: Moving Swiftly to Enlightenment Kechara receives its name from the paradise of this red Queen of the Dakinis. Her practice is said to be very effective for removing our delusions so that we may ascend to Kechara Paradise, where practitioners will hear Dharma even when the wind blows. With such a conducive environment, it is little surprise that those who ascend to her heaven will be fast-tracked on the path to Enlightenment. Setrap: Removing Obstacles to Happiness The wrathful emanation of Buddha Amitabha, the Dharma Protector Setrap is an enlightened Being sworn to protect the Dharma and its practitioners. Like a mother scolds her child out of compassion, Setrap acts swiftly to clear obstacles. He blesses practitioners with the outer conducive conditions necessary for inner transformation.
