ATB Laurence Scott is a leading world class manufacturer of project engineered, high voltage induction motors in power outputs up to 25MW at voltages up to 15KV. We supply and serve a global market principally in the sectors of Oil, Gas, Petrochemicals and Power Generation (both Conventional & Nuclear).

We are now seeking a suitably qualified and experienced Management Accountant in our Finance team. The role holder will report to and work closely with the Financial Controller.

Role Purpose The main purpose of the role is to produce timely and accurate management information for the Executive team, to assist in the preparation of the five year business plan and to answer day to day Finance related queries from the workforce.

Key ResponsibilitiesThe role holder will:• Be responsible for the accurate and timely preparation of month end management accounts. • Ensure monthly balance sheets are prepared, reconciled and analysed. • Manage weekly and monthly reporting, including Profit and Loss, Balance Sheet, Cashflow, Sales, COS and overheads.• Oversee Purchase Ledger, Credit control and Payroll, ensuring best practice is adhered to.• Have responsibility for expense claims and petty cash.• Prepare UK statutory accounts.• Manage audit schedules for annual external audits.• Assist in the completion of the annual budget and quarterly forecasts.• Support the implementation and transition of the new SAP ERP system from the current Visibility ERP system.• Ensure the appropriate financial governance and control per SOX requirements.• Support internal stakeholders, providing finance services to Operations, Technical and Sales.• Carry out project work and other ad hoc duties as directed by the Group Finance Director and Financial Controller.

Person Specification:

Essential Our ideal candidate will:• Be ACA / ACCA / CIMA part or nearly qualified.• Have a minimum of five years management accounts experience.• Have experience within a manufacturing environment.• Be practised in producing weekly and monthly accounts. • Own good knowledge of UK GAAP and IFRS.• Be experienced in POC.• Possess solid, demonstratable bookkeeping skills.• Recent working knowledge of multi-entity and multi-currency environment.• Strong IT skills, with a proven ability of using Excel spreadsheets.• Possess a flexible approach to work and willing to play a full role in ensuring the success of the team.• Have the ability to communicate effectively at all levels within a large organisation.

Preferable Our ideal candidate will: • Have working knowledge of Visibility, Cognos and SAP FI accounting software.
