FEMME FATALEMYSTIC KREWE OF FEMME FATALE PRESENTS LOVE SONGS is the

theme of the 750+ member female krewe parading with 20 fl oats built by Kern Studios. Float titles include Higher Love, Vision of Love, and Endless Love. 2020 Grand Marshals are New Orleans vocalist and band leader Wanda Rouzan and Cyndi Nguyen, the City’s fi rst Asian-American Councilwoman. Special throws include Cher Chez La Femme signature beads, lip-shaped fl asks, visor sunglasses, and light-up ball wands. The most coveted throw remains the Femme Fatale signature bejeweled mirror compacts. The annual MKFF Gala is set for February 14, 2020, at the Ernest N. Morial Convention Center.

Founded in 2013, the mission of the Mystic Krewe of Femme Fatale is “to offer women of all creeds and colors a unique opportunity to promote and support New Orleans’ cultural landscape through par-ticipation in the annual Mardi Gras season, while uplifting the community through various endeavors of engagement, aware-ness and social enhancement in order to further the growth of the organization.” www.mkfemmefatale.org

Named after the uptown neighborhood of Carrollton—once a small township located on the edge of Orleans and Jefferson Parishes—this parading club was founded in 1924. Initially known as the Seventh District Carnival and Social Club, Carroll-ton began staging the annual “Carrollton Carnival” on Fat Tuesday. When most of Mardi Gras was rained out in 1933, the Carrollton men staged the only daytime parade of the season. The outbreak of World War II and a fi re that destroyed Car-rollton’s den, caused the club to retire un-til 1947, when the members reorganized and staged a colorful 12-fl oat parade. www.kreweofcarrollton.org

CARROLLTONLed by the captain and lieutenants on horseback, the 575-member male Krewe

of Carrollton presents a 27-fl oat procession in 2020. With the theme COLOR MY WORLD, fl oats include such colors as Pink, Baby Blue, and the offi cial colors of Carnival, Purple, Gold and Green. Reigning as King and Queen Carrollton XCVI are Erik Louis Youngblood and Katherine Nicole Wood. The 2019 Queen and her pages appear on the Queen’s fl oat, and last year’s maids ride on their own fl oat. Ducote De-signs built the fl oats, and the costumes are designed by Masquerade. Traditionally the parade features more than 69 units. Carrollton krewe-logo throws this year include coloring books and Crayons, playing cards, and the Carrollton signature decorated shrimp boots. This year’s ball will be held at the New Orleans Hilton Riverside on February 20, 2029.
