MTC bus terminus was amongthe key projects cleared by the

Chennai Unified MetropolitanTransport Authority’s Sub-

committee on non-motorisedtransport and infrastructureat its recent meeting.

There is heavy congestion inthe terminus though a numberbuses are also being parked onBurkit Road and Police Quar-ters Road. Traffic is also dis-rupted in the area.

There is also a proposal tobuild a multi-storied complexin the bus terminus.

Benches and a public con-venience are required for wai-ting passengers.

A board displaying timings isalso a necessity.

Lakshmi, who has been amember of the Tribunal since2010, had been its acting presi-dent since August last year.
