Leonard A. Miller, Private Co. B. 3rd Reg. F. A. R. D. He was the s0n of the late \Y illiam and Lonisa II. :Miller of Oak Bluffs, l\Iass., and was born in Somerset Sept. 18, 1896. He entered the service and was sent to Camp ,fackson, S. C., where he died of lobar pneumonia Sept. 27,

Infantry, gavenp his lifo for his country on Nov. 3, 1918, from wound" received in a<'tion on Oct. 4, 1~118, during the fighting in the Champagne srctor p1ount Blanc). He was the son of .i\Ir. and Mn,. Si<lney L. Hathaway of Somerset. Lieutenant Hathaway µ;radnated from the Fall River Technical High School in June, rnl5, being Major of the Hiµ;h School Cadet Batallion. vVhile a student rit Amherst Agricultural College he was Heleeted to enter the Third Officers training camp at Camp Upton, L. I. In re;;ponse to an urgent call for volunteers, he left for o,·crseas in Co. I, 308th Regiment, being commissioned Second Lieutenant on ,Tune 1, 1918. Took part in St. '.\Jihiel driYc an~l was fatally wounded 8t Mount Blanc, after showing great bravery and ability under heavy fire. Buried with full military honors on Nov. 5, in American military cemetery in Nieves, [i'rance,

:r oseph Ogden, the first 'of S.9merset's sons to make the supreme sacrifice, was born in England July 30, 1896. He was the son of Edward and M:uy A. Ogden, County street. He enlisted at Providence, R. I., March 25, 1918, was transferred to Fort Slocum, N. Y., and from there tu Camp Meigs, Washiugton, D. C., in the Quartermaster Corps, 17th Company. He was prominent in the Boy Scouts, being the firE>t boy in this 8ection to become an Eagle scout, and held twenty-two meda1s for Scout work and a medal for Liberty Loan 'vYork. He died June 3, 1918, at vVashington, D. C., of lobar pneumonia and was buried at Somerset.
John Damas, Private 1st Class Co. F. 5th Infantry. He was the son of ,Joseph and :\Iary Damas of ·whetstone Hill Road, was born at St. Michaels, Azores Islands, May 7, 1895. He enlisted at Fall River, July 11, 1917, and was sent to Fort Slocum, N. Y. After a few months training he was sent to France, where he was killed in action June fi, Hl18.
Dt>sire Clantier, Private Co. G. 306th Infantry. He was a brotlier of Mrs. Odele C. Fournier of Alberta ave., was born in Canada ,June 5, 1892. He entered the service Nov. 26, 1 D 17, shortly after was sent to France and was in the trenches July 4th, 1918. He was killed in action August
