Life at Lifehouse
Gifts Given In Honor of:
As part of our program, we ask our residents to ‘give back’. They are asked to tithe to their church or a charity and to give some-thing back to Lifehouse.
We also encourage them to give back in other ways. Recently they have been serving at the Fran-ciscan Soup Kitchen, as pictured here.
Last month we celebrated with a resident as she marked her first anniversary of sobriety!
One of our residents, who recently transitioned from Lifehouse to U of L, received recognition as one of the Mayor's Out-standing High School Seniors for the Class of 2017! Congratulations Heather, we are so proud of you and all your hard work!
Wish List: We would like a variety of gift cards in $5.00
amounts for our new incentive system for our residents. Suggested places: Heine Brothers, gas
cards, McDonald’s, Wendy’s, Chick-Fil-A, Arby’s etc.
From the Executive Director, Joan Smith
There is not a day goes by that I don’t sit in amazement of what God is doing at Lifehouse. Many said that doing a program as comprehensive as this -without any help from the city, state or federal government would be impossi-ble. We have learned that nothing is im-possible with God!! God does not make a mistake when He places that tiny soul into the fertilized ovum, which is called conception! As a health professional I am convinced that is when hu-man life begins---the life of that human person ends when that same soul leaves the earthly body and returns to God. The journey each life takes while on this earth is “life changing” as he or she lives their life and fulfills God’s plan for them on earth. Is that “life changing” event find-ing a cure for many of our serious diseases, inventing something to improve the lives of all mankind, developing something that at this time we can’t even imagine? We have no idea what we have lost in this world by allowing the killing of tiny innocent lives. Children who have not been given the chance to live out their lives and possibly change the world for the better. We are saving some of those lives and only God knows what future miracles we will see because these babies lived. We are also saving the mothers from many of their past mistakes as well as preparing them for a fruitful fu-ture. What an amazing opportunity we have been given!!! Thanks to all our donors who have made this possible. Many wonderful miracles lie ahead!!!
We had a re-markable evening of tes-timonies and fellowship to celebrate our 10th birthday! Several of our
residents courageously & transparently shared the story of their journey that led them to Lifehouse and how their lives have changed since coming to us. If you missed it or would like to share it, these touching videos will soon be available on our website, www.lifehouselouisville.org.

Mike and Sharon Graham have been a blessing to Lifehouse since before our doors opened. Mike was one of the first people to reach out to our Executive Director, Joan Smith when Lifehouse was still in the planning stages. In no time they were both actively involved as Mike joined the Board of Trustees, and Sharon became a favorite Housemom to the Lifehouse residents, and a friend and trusted co-worker to the staff. No words can adequately express the love we have for them. Mike and Sharon have given tirelessly of them-selves to this ministry and have been a dynamic part of all that we have ac-complished in our 10 years of helping pregnant and parenting young moms and their babies. Although serious health issues have required them to step back from active involvement in Lifehouse, we know that the Lifehouse residents and staff are in their prayers, and they are in ours as well. We offer our prayers for Mike’s continued perseverance and health, and for Sharon too. God bless you both- you will be missed!
One of our residents re-cently gave birth to twins.
She selflessly chose life and made an adoption plan for these two beautiful baby girls, blessing a family who had longed for children.
