When I was deployed in 2017 I was emailing my Dad and Tiffany back and forth to try
and find a truck that I would like. I found a few of them that were okay, and a few that
were beautiful but out of my price range. Then my Dad sent me the Craigslist ad for a
beautiful 1963 Chevrolet C10 pickup
in Cardinal Red. As soon as I saw the
truck I knew I would love it, but it
too was above my price range so I
told my dad that I was going to mes-
sage the guy about that one. Well
about the time that I messaged him
the next day it had sadly already
sold. I moved on to the next and a
few weeks later my dad told me to
just wait and we would go look at
some when I got back.
After I got back we went to a few
places and looked around and I al-
most bought another one, but my
Dad was nit-picking it to no end, so I
passed. That weekend we had a wel-
come home dinner for me and my
dad sent us to the store to get some-
thing that he forgot. When I got back
he and all of my family were standing
in the garage and there she was…
That beautiful 63’ C10 and she even
had a big bow on it!
Since then I have been putting a
lot of time into her to get it to run
smoother and more dependably. I’ve
replaced the worn out L6 230 w/ a 3
-speed trans with a SBC 350/700r4,
new steering column, gas tank, AM/
FM/XM/Bluetooth radio, and many more things to come.

President’s Report
The year 2021 is just ahead
and hopefully it will be filled with SGCCC events and pro-
jects that have something for every member. Of course,
the usual events will be there, like the First Saturday, Second
Saturday and Third Thursday Cruise-
Ins. I hope we can have a great Drive & Dine every month and find new and dif-
ferent places to "cruise to". We are blessed with pretty good weather all
year and we are blessed with interesting people to hang out with. What more
can you ask for?
One of our goals in the past was to in-
volve ourselves in more community events to enhance our profile in the
community. That will continue to be a
goal in 2021. We need to get more sign-age for our vehicles to let the commu-
nity know that the SGCCC is present and accounted for. If those community
events happened to involve youth, that would be even better because that will
also be one of our goals, to involve more
youth in our events and impacts.
At the January 2021 meeting, we will find leadership for Events Coordinator,
Membership, Cruiser Development,
Promotions, etc. Joe did a great job on the events and photographs in 2020,
Fred and Hardy did a great job of mem-bership, Ed and Annette tended to the
cruiser and Tiffany had great T-Shirt creation. Many others also did their
part to make 2020 successful. Each and
every member has an opportunity to serve. But that is up to you. I have al-
ways been of the opinion that you de-cide your level of involvement.
Looking forward to 2021 in the SGCCC. Thanks.

Dan introduced new members Tim Wright and his 302-powered ’31 Ford and Bill & Ed Halter with a Camaro Z28 Hugger Edition.

Happy New Year!—What a year
2020 was, but here we are in 2021!
We trust it will be a better year for
all of us, with elections over, and
COVID-19 somewhat under con-
trol with the vaccines available.
May we soon be back to some
sense of normalcy!
