General Guidelines

1. You will be late (in the morning or afternoon). We will make sure that the vehicle waits for you or returns to pick you up.

2. You will not be able to work one day.

3. Your PDA/Tablet battery is almost gone. If the battery is very low (under 15%), use the paper survey for the next survey.

2. Use all lower case writing

3. Don’t worry if your PDA or Tablet stops working! Turn off the device, turn it back on, and see what happens. If it is still not working, use the paper survey form.

4. If there is a tree, crop or livestock that you do not recognize, take a photo of it when prompted at the end of the module

5. If you have only been given an indigenous name of a tree, crop or livestock, input that name in the survey. But please know what the animal is so we can find the English name!

6. For Livestock, always input the names in the plural form.62
