NEIGhBOrhOOD cONcErNS - The hrca’s covenants don’t cover every issue

that may come up in your neighborhood. That being said however, the hrca

works with other agencies daily on a variety of issues where cooperation keeps our

neighborhoods safe and aesthetically pleasing. If you have a concern, suggestion, or

need advice about who does what, contact us. We will do our best to help get the

right information to the right people and make a difference in highlands ranch.

aNNUaL mEETING OF mEmBErS aND DISTrIcT DELEGaTES - Your District

Delegate is your neighborhood’s connection to the hrca. Delegates play a very

important role in the governance of the hrca and the betterment of our community.

Delegates represent the homeowners in their district and elect directors to serve on

the hrca Board. Delegates amend bylaws and have certain corporate authorities

over hrca matters as defined in the governing documents of the hrca. Delegates

are elected to serve two year terms (even numbered districts in even numbered years,

odd numbered districts in odd numbered years). Subassociations elect their own

delegate to represent them. If you live in an even numbered district or unrepresented

district, you will be receiving a Notice and Proxy card from the hrca soon. make

sure to get to know your delegate, learn about the candidates, choose to run yourself,

or support a neighbor. If you would like more information about District Delegates,

please call 303-471-8802 or email [email protected].

additionally, delegates meet monthly as the recreation advisory committee and hear

from state legislators, county commissioners, the sheriff, metro District, and make

recommendations to the Board of Directors on a wide variety of issues. Delegates

help determine where our community goes from here.

aL PELKOWSKI - Speaking of delegates, this month’s Delegate of the month is al

Pelkowski. al has served as a delegate for 20 years in highlands ranch and has had

a great impact on how our community looks and feels today. Thanks, al for serving

in a volunteer leadership position for the past 20 years. Because of your dedication,

highlands ranch is a great place to own property.

HOA NEWSWith the arrival of warmer weather, most of us are anxious to get outside and enjoy our yards and sunshine. There are many ways we can help our homes and neighborhoods look their best as they “awake” for the coming summer. Take an inventory and make plans to get the necessary maintenance underway. Well-

maintained properties certainly enhance the neighborhood and property values.

a FEW SPrING SPrUcE UP TIPS....- aerate and fertilize your sod to help the grass green-up faster and watering efficient.

- clean out all planting beds of old dried plant material, debris, and trash.

- assess the paint on your home, and make plans for any repairs.

BEFOrE YOU BEGIN ThaT PrOJEcT... check with the covenant compliance department before you begin your home improvement project to have it approved before starting. The department has specific forms for paint, landscape, building additions, and general improvements. If you have any questions on the submittal process, call the covenant compliance Department at 303-471-8821. all covenant enforcement
