fyi | QUarTErLY aSSESSMENTSLook for the 2nd quarter assessment invoice this month which is due april 1. hrca

encourages homeowners to use the direct debit payment program which is a

convenient way to save time, postage costs and the assurance that your payment is

never late. Please visit our web site for more information. For any questions regarding

your account, call 303-791-8958. Thank you!

The Wearin’ O’ the Green and St. Patrick’s Day is upon us! We

should also be seeing more green in our vegetation by now, so

take a moment to see if Mother Nature has created any home

improvement projects for you before we get too much further along in the season.

GrEEN IS GOOD – Keeping with the theme of green for this month, I want to update

you on an important item that hrca recently went out to bid on. after a bidding process

we awarded our “Preferred Provider” contract to Pro Disposal. Many of you are familiar

with Pro Disposal and have taken advantage of their low monthly rates for service. Their

contract was renewed for an additional three years. Stay tuned for more details in the

next couple of months, but I believe you will be very happy to see that we have increased

our emphasis on recycling and sustainable services.

BOarD ELEcTION – March is the month for our Board of Director’s Election. This year

two seats are open. The deadline to submit applications to run for those seats was January

31. Our current board members, Brock Norris and Jeff Suntken, resubmitted for their seats

and will be running unopposed. Their service to the community is much appreciated and

we look forward to another two years working with them to make highlands ranch an

even better place to live, work, and play! The election will take place on March 19 at the

annual Meeting of Delegates at Eastridge in the Gordon Von Stroh community room.

EcONOMIc DEVELOPMENT – You may ask yourself, what the hrca has to do with

Economic Development. Well, over the last 15 months we have been actively working

with the Northwest Douglas county Economic Development corporation (NWDcEDc)

to better position our region to take advantage of our business-friendly climate in Douglas

county. We are approaching this issue with a philosophy that “a rising tide lifts all boats”

and we need to be at the table to assist in creating more value in our community. In

recent months, we have formed new relationships with Douglas county, highlands ranch

chamber, Metro District and the NWDcEDc. When all of us come together for the

benefit of our community, you are the winners. The goal is to garner more interest from

businesses that will create value in highlands ranch and neighboring communities, retain

and increase our land values, and make us a destination in the Denver Metropolitan area.

Stay tuned for more news as we move along this path to the future.

Enjoy the beginning of spring this month and remember…ThINK GrEEN!

The community Improvement Services Department

is encouraging residents to properly plan for their

forthcoming outdoor home improvement projects.

The month of March historically provides a wide and

varied assortment of weather conditions and, while the

glimpses of warmer weather seem inviting to begin an

outdoor project, keep in mind a significant snow storm

may be just around the corner to halt the process. This is a great time of year

to outline your project, obtain the required “approval” from the architectural

committee and commence on contracting for the work to be done, if you are

not completing it yourself. Our staff is available to help you with the application

process. Please stop by Eastridge to visit with our staff, or contact us at

[email protected], or 303-471-8821.

First impressions and the general appearance of our

neighborhoods are greatly influenced by a variety factors.

Blowing trash is unsightly and lowers property values. Even

in the best of circumstances, it is sometimes difficult to

keep trash contained, but with the high winds, it’s even

more important that trash be kept in sealed containers

and upright while at the curb. Please compact your trash

as much as possible (making it heavier and less likely to blow over), place it in

bags, and put the bags into tightly covered cans before putting out at the curb.

also, please be certain to keep unleashed pets off the street, so that they are

not tipping over cans or tearing into bags.

Trash can be placed at the curb the evening before pick-up, and cans are

required to be stored out of site again on the same evening as pick up. If

cans are out on the curb and/or visible from the street any other time,

the homeowner is not in compliance. Our residents are deeply concerned

about this issue and readily call in and report their concerns. additionally,

our technicians address the issue on a daily basis in an effort to keep our

neighborhoods clean and our property values up.

Let’s all be good neighbors and do our part in keeping up the appearance in

our neighborhoods.
