How did you use the new media technologies in the construction and research, planning and evaluation stages?

Before the Project even started….We had to make Blogger.com

• Before we started off our project, we had to create a blogger account in order to be able to ‘blog’ about the processes, planning and research that had to be done for our music video. We had to detail each stage including our video locations , costumes etc. We also had to talk about the different inspirations and music videos were we could get our ideas from. The fact that we created a blogger account last year made it a lot easier to create a new blog within that account instead creating a blogger account.

YouTube• Youtube.com has been a technology ( website) that I have had to use throughout

this project. We had to post our preliminary task which was to try and lip synch to the song we planned to use for the real music video. When the video was also finished, we had to post it on YouTube. YouTube is used by a lot of people and so therefore, there is no restrictions and everyone can view it. In that case, it will be easier for people to leave comments and feedback.

SurveyMonkey.Com

• Survey monkey has been used in this project to research the type of music people like to listen to, the most popular genres, what people like to see in a music videos and so on. It as also been a way to get a feedbacks on the finished music video.

Final cut express• Final cut express has been used throughout our project to edit

our preliminary task and music video. This was mostly to do with editing to the beat and making sure that the images in the music video in terms of the lip synching and making sure it matches .

HD Camera

In this years coursework, we was privileged enough to use HD cameras for our coursework . The camera was vital in terms of the construction of the music video. It enabled us to capture a better quality and picture than what we could have captured if we used the standard cameras that we used for our thriller last year. The bonus of the HD camera is that it was able to detect the change of light, without losing quality.

Google

• In terms of research and planning , Google took a great part in the sense that we had carry out researches on different artist and just in general, everything that needed to be searched through was done by going through Google first.

Mobile phone.For some people in my group, they used their iphones to sometimes

log onto their blogs and put a post up.

We also used an iphone to take pictures

of the costume as well as for

the performance.
