How did you use media technologies in the construction and research, planning and

evaluation stages?

During the research phase of our project we relied very heavily on media technologies, frequently using a variety of internet sites to look up conventions of different movie genres. This would be on both computers and smartphones, a good example convergent technology. This allowed for easy access to a lot of information, making the whole process far easier than it would have been in the past. When gathering the information we had researched, we often put it into a Prezi, an online presentation software. This allowed for information to be even easier to access for us as well as giving us an easy reference whenever we had a query about something we had already looked up. This was accessible again through both computers and smartphones.During the planning stage we were back on computers, this time using different software to help make our short film a reality. This included Photoshop as image editing software as well as Celtex to create scripts along with Word if any simple typing was required, be that noting or starting to draft an ancillary task. When editing our final piece together we used Final Cut Pro on a Mac, this being the preferred alternative to Adobe Elements 14 which we decided not to use. This was alongside the other applications used for any internet-related query or investigation.

Cont.During the evaluation a majority of the work was done on regular computers as opposed to Macs. This allowed for us to have more freedom with where we do our work as we can transfer what we have done off of the hard drive it is currently saved on instead of being forced to work on the same Mac all of the time. This meant it was much easier to transfer work done at home to a location in school and continue on it there, and vice versa. We used more presentation software during the evaluation stage of the project, going back to Prezi which we used earlier on as well as PowerPoint which was a pieced of software which can be used if the internet is unavailable which is especially helpful for me as my personal computer currently cannot access the internet.
