HOW DID YOU USE MEDIA TECHNOLOGIES IN THE CONSTRUCTION AND RESEARCH, PLANNING AND EVALUATION STAGES?

PHOTO SHOP

Photo shop enabled me to construct and edit my magazine cover and poster. It allowed me to manipulate images to change how they look, which made if more effective to fit the genre desired. For example it allowed me to add a shadowing effect on my magazine cover to enable it to look as if the villain is coming out from darkness. I was already very familiar with the use of photo shop after my AS work on creating magazine cover, contents page and double page spread. This helped me massively as I already understand how to use the program which enabled me to carry out my tasks quickly and efficiently to the highest possible quality. My knowledge has expanded more within A2 as I became more familiar with tools I didn’t use in my AS tasks, for example to blur tool. I believe over the 2 years my skills have developed massively with the use of photo shop and will help me massively in the future when creating products.

ADOBE PREMIERE PRO

I chose to use Adobe Premier Pro to edit and construct my film trailer as it was readily available at school and home. This program allowed me to put together the trailer efficiently. Before I started to construct my film trailer I experimented using different tools and aspects of the program to become more familiar with it, this is because this was the first time using it. I used transitions to allow the trailer to flow from scene to scene. I found that editing video and audio was very easy after learning the basics of the program.

PREZI

I’ve used Prezi to present my evaluation questions. I have never used this software before, however I looked at it during my AS studies so I was fairly familiar with some aspects. I found it as a fun and interactive way of presenting information, it’s an exciting program that is a more sophisticated way of presenting information, rather than using PowerPoint or word that is basic.

SLIDE SHARE

Slideshare is a very easy and efficient program to use when presenting information and answering questions. This program allowed me to upload PowerPoints to the internet and embed it into my media blog, whilst making them look more professional and tidy on my blog.

IPHONE 5

I used an iPhone 5 to film and record me media trailer. The reason why I used it is because the camera contains very high quality. Mobile phone cameras are starting to develop rapidly and are almost or in some cases better than some recording cameras. I found it easier to use this as its easy to carry about and use, which I also had lenses to put over the camera to make it better quality or change the camera shots. I also found that is was very easy to upload clips and media onto the computer through the iPhone.

YOUTUBE

I used YouTube to upload my media trailer to the internet, this allowed me to obtain an embed code to share onto my blog. The use of YouTube also allows many other people to view my media trailer, which allowed them to comment on what they think about my trailer.

POLLDADDY

I used Polldaddy to gain views on what people thought about my product. It also enabled me to see whether it was reaching the target audience intended. I used Polldaddy in my AS productions so I was very familiar with the program. This allowed me to look over my production and see how I can develop it to make it better.
