BABY JESUS FIGURINE BLESSING
This weekend all figurines of the Baby Jesus from your home nativity will be blessed. Also, there will be blessed hay for all families to take home and place it at your nativity
“Glory to God in the highest....” Each and every year, Christmas brings me a lot of childhood memories. We used to make a Christmas manger with our parents. In my local language ‘Malayalam’, the Christmas crib is called “Pulkoodu”. Locally available materials go into the making of a crib. The bottom of the crib would be lined with hay and the roof is made of grass or coconut tree leaves. The recreated mangers will be decorated with stars, balloons and colourful ribbons. Clay models of Joseph, Mary, angels and shepherds will be placed in the crib on the previous day of Christmas. Sheep, cows and other gifted animals that had a glimpse of the Holy baby, also find a place in the recreated stables. From my parents and Catechists I learned and loved the story of Christmas. Christmas was always been a season of love , joy and celebrations for us children. On Christmas we remember the unfathomable love of God .He sent his only begotten son Jesus Christ to be our Saviour. Jesus showed us the way to the Father. His message is love; unconditional love. And he showed us how to love unconditionally even at the last moment of his life. As we exchange the Christmas gifts to each other, let us remember the gifts of God in our lives. Our parents, husband and wife, children, dear and near ones, health and wealth. Let us remember that God became man that we might have life and have it to the full. God de-cided to be with us ‘Emmanuel’. The abiding presence of our Lord in our hearts makes us loving and lovable persons. May the joy and peace of Christmas be with us all through the new year 2020!!!
Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year 2020
Yours in Christ, Fr. Bejoy Thomas CMI,

THE LADIES of THE ROSARY ALTAR SOCIETY
sincerely thank everyone who supported their Bake Sale, Christmas Sale, Basket Raffle and Munchkins with Santa last Sunday. Also the Rosary Altar Society sends a huge thank you to all the RE students who participated in last week’s Munchkins with Santa. The bak-ers provided lots and lots of beauti-fully wrapped goodies, the elves were great and sharing the munchkins and juice and directing the children to Santa
CHRISTMAS ANGELS
THANK YOU to all our parishioners who donated gifts to help those less fortunate . Because of your generosity, we were able to give presents to 60 families and individuals who otherwise would not have been able to have much of a Christmas. Each Christmas Angel shopped with care for their “adopted” family, and the many packages were beautifully wrapped and tagged. All the families were so grateful for the gifts and overwhelmed by the generosity of people who did not even know them. Please know that you made many children and their parents very happy, and I am sure it will be a Christmas they will long remember! Thank you ever so much to Gail and Brian Morrow who organized and delivered all the Christmas packages to Fr. Nana, Sr Alice and many individuals. We have amazing parishioners here at Holy Name who continually reach out to others in need. Thank you!
